5amps,6cells no load current draw too much?
I rewound an old buggy motor as an experiment, intending to use it with a 4:1box. It draws around 5amps on 6cells with no load. Is this going to be usable, it seems high to me? It also gets warm quickly. The revs seem way up there. The motor is an old kyosho lemans 480gold, with a mabuchi 540 armature wound with 14 turns of double .65mm wire.
Thanks for any help.
