The New ULD EPP-DEPRON Durable F3P plane kit

The Budget RC ULD is an aerobatic trainer specifically designed to handle all the bumps and bruises associated with learning to fly precision maneuvers. It's foamie construction has been specifically designed to fly precision while being flexible enough to handle mishaps with the ground. Months of testing have developed the lightest and strongest airframe of EPP and Depron.

Just found this thread and wanted to jump in to say that I'm loving my ULD. I got the first kit from BRC and Mark was awesome helping me get it built and set up. It is so much fun to fly. I'm actually getting pretty good at some pretty cool 3D. I've crashed the snot out of the ULD several times and usually it just bounces, but the best thing is that unlike some other planes I've wrecked, if something does break or tear, this thing glues back together and flies just as good as before. I'd recommend checking it out for sure.

BTW, I also fly mine on a 3S 800 mah lipo

Pictures of the finished plane

Ok Everyone sorry I did not get my Digital camera back from my girlfriend in time to take pictures of the build. but here are some pictures of the built ULD plane kits are now for sale on my site follow link here for details.

I will be shooting video in the morning the packs are on the charger as we speak.

A couple of quick notes this plane was built using CA and kicker and (foam safe) and Ultimate RC foam glue. I used low temp hot glue also for a couple items including the carbon rod setup. 5 Minute epoxy was used for the motor mount (hot glue could be used just fine) Motor is the towerpro bp2408-21 servos are tower pro 5 gm for the Elevator and Rudder the 9gm version for the Ailerons. Speed control is a used Dualsly 15-18 amp esc and the receiver is a GWS 4 channel. All the pre cut holes for the servos made the gear fit using just a couple drops of hot glue no cutting was needed. I used no paint on the plane its all good old Sharpies.

I have not put her on a scale yet stay tunned I will post next post.

I will fly her using a 3 cell 600mah 11.1 volt pack.

going have to see how she is balanced as we go in the AM.

Enjoy more to come.

video caps

here are some video stills from my flying today I lost a tire and kept flying. plane flys great (this is not a beginner plane) you have to know how to fly rudder turns and a new pilot could get into trouble.

You put the word "trainer" in the title and then you say this.

No problem. I have flying experience , but not a bipe like this.

How difficult is it to fly, not 3D?
I have a opportunity to buy a Cox Christian Eagle too.

to be honest if you have a computer radio and you set you dual rates at about 50% she can be used a rudder (trainer) that word again this plane floats along real slow when balanced just right will do a knife edge just about hands off! the plane can be built using low coat towerpro hardware and performance is great. the kit comes with all carbon and parts even string to wrap around the carbon to hold the medal landing gear in place. the plane if built out of EPP foam and depron and can be built in about 5 hours. The instructions call for a 9047 prop Im using gws type and they seem to do the job i'm going to get a couple APC ones as they hold up better.

I ment to say a good Rudder trainer people I mean you have to learn to use your left hand to turn the plane. and since most planes can be turned just using the Ailerons and a little up elevator you have to practice using the rudder to get it right. more like left or right rudder and a little up elevator to make a perfect turn.

Ok I put the plane on the scale and it came out at 10.6oz with no battery installed about 12oz with the battery I use that perfect per the instructions. CG is at 2.5" for the first flights and 3" and back for crazy 3d action.
