Lunar Eclipse BAAAHHH! They're ruining my time off with shoveling snow instead of flying planes!

Be glad you only have to worry about shoveling snow off your driveway, not dipping bucketfuls of the Virgin River out of your basement. Those St. George meteorologists appear to be a particularly cruel bunch.

Yes, I often long for global warming when I'm out flying in the winter and can't feel my fingers any more.

Whenever people have mentioned global warming on this thread, I've wondered whether we should expand the thread beyond meteorologists to include climatologists. I think that we should. And, while we're at it, why not expand it to include any liars we can think of? Here's the first few that came to mind:

Meteorologist = someone who lies to ruin your flying plans one weekend at a time.
Climatologist = someone who lies to ruin your flying plans forever.
Communist = someone who lies to steal from the masses
Minimalist = someone who lies to save time
Marketing Consultant = someone who lies to sell something
Lawyer = someone who lies without even trying
Engineer = someone who lies about having a girlfriend

And....last but not least.....

RC Addict = someone who lies awake at night, wishing he was flying, and then finally falls asleep and dreams of flying

I can neither confirm nor deny this.

Kinda like the meteorologist on the day after a botched forecast -- neither confirming nor denying that he ever made the forecast in the first place.

100% chance that meteorologists would disagree with that. Even the most assertive, overconfident, outspoken meteorologist on the planet isn't going to commit to 100% of ANYTHING. It would be against their nature.

Even in a job interview --

Network executive: Impressive resume you have here.

Meteorologist: 80% chance that I would agree with you on a subjective statement like that.

Network executive: Okay....well, I see that you graduated in the top of your class.

Meteorologist: 55% chance that my academic performance will carry over into actual job performance.

Network executive: Ummm....your letters of reference are excellent.

Meteorologist: 30% chance that those are reliable or even relevant.

Network executive: Excellent, based on your answers, I see you've got exactly what we need for this job. You're hired! You saw the advertised salary, correct?

Meteorologist: Yes, and I'm willing to work for 80% of that.

It's a shame to waste today's perfect south sloping wind by timing it with precipitation and colder temps. What will these meteorologists think of next?

We are going to have to start carrying snorkels in our flight boxes.
