People will believe anything.....provided it's a meteorologist they're listening to. Did I mention that the word "gullible" is not in the dictionary?

Mini Skirt Meteorology

According to this report, we finally have a reliable source for weather forecasting. And it doesn't involve meteorologists. Yippeeeee!

If you want to know what the weather is up to, it might be best to start looking down. For apparently the length of a woman’s skirt is a good way of forecasting whether to expect rain or shine. The bizarre claim is the result of sales analysis by experts at the online marketplace eBay. They insist that the length of skirts sold rises several days before the arrival of sunny skies. And when the air is about to cool, they drop.

This happens, they say, at least three days before the weather changes, and sometimes even before the forecasters at the Met Office have issued their most traditional predictions. The trend, they claim, correctly predicted Britain’s temperamental weather last year, as well as the recent short-lived heat wave.

‘We’re calling it Mini Skirt Meterology,’ said eBay’s Ruth Szyszkowski. ‘If you want to know what the weather is going to be like in three days, just take a look at hemlines.’ During the recent hot spell, it is claimed that demand for short skirts soared by 200 per cent a full seven days ahead of the actual event – well ahead of the Met Office forecast. There are said to be distinct changes in skirt length with the rise and fall of the thermometer, typically starting in advance of the actual change.

I just heard Dan Pope claim that yesterday's blizzard was not actually a blizzard because it doesn't meet meteorologists' high fallutin official definition of blizzard. Maybe that's why I hate meteorologists so badly: with this pointless word-parsing, they sound like lawyers.

One time while coming in off the west desert of Dugway Proving Ground we who were in the truck saw a funnel cloud form and drop down.

The met office was near my office so I went in and told the meteorologist what we saw. He basically told me because I didn't have a degree in meteorology that it was an unreliable report.

Foxnews is reporting on a meteorologist who lied about being raped. Hmm, what's next, are these meteorologists going to start lying about the weather?

I agree. Based on that forecast, I'd say the next ten days would be a perfect time to reshingle a roof, host a garden dinner party, or compete in a badminton tournament. I heard that L Mn is planning on doing all three.

Didn't you get the severed monkey head I left on your front porch last night? That was my RSVP.
