8 Foot Indoor B-17

Hey, everyone!

I have just finished my latest build. It is an 8' indoor B-17.

First of all, let me say a big thanks to my mom for letting me invade the dining room for two months to build this plane!

This has been the longest build that I have ever done. It took about two months worth of building off and on due to college and homework getting in way.

I am posting the finished plane an then I will come back day after day and post the process of the build.

The specs are:

Wingspan: 96"
Length: 70"
Flying Weight: 4lbs, 6oz.
Power System: 4 Axi 2204-54 outrunners, 4 CC Thunderbird 9 ESCs, GWS 8x4.3 Slow Fly Props, EVO 2500 2s LiPo.
Flight Controls: Ailerons 2 HXT 500 servos, Elevator & Rudder/Tail Wheel 2 HXT 900 servos, CC 10 amp BEC, 1300 2s LiPo (nose weight) .
Top Turret/Video: HXT 500 servo.

These are pics of it before detailing and the maiden. After detailing it gained 6oz. due to turrets, guns, decals, and paint.

I don't have any plans available for posting. This model is scratch-built from Fiddlers Green plans that were enlarged. I had to do quite a bit of trimming and fine tuning due to enlarging it. I think it was 476%.

Hope you guys enjoy,
Reegan

Now for the good part......pictures and video! Please click on the video and go to the You Tube page, click in the bottom right hand corner of the display and watch in High Quality. It look so much better! Thanks to sr71fan for the video.

Come ON this is too cool! Looks like a very nice flyer flier, and it sure has that "bomber drone" sound. Great job!

Very nice! One question though--why fly her indoors? Because you CAN I'm guessing. I'd love to see some flight vids outside.

Nice work. I remember seeing the A-10 you put together awhile back too. Great workmanship with foam.

I am lucky enough to be in the same indoor club with Reegan and Gary Jones and get to witness their incredible giant indoor foamys first-hand. What amazes me is not only do they scratch-build these planes from just 3-view drawings and photos, but they also make them fly so well. Can't wait to see what they come up with next!
