OK guys, mine is almost ready to fly !

I just fired up my Medusa motor 036-050-2200V2 for the first time on stock fan, stock pack (5S 3700mAh chinese make) and Suppo Model 100A ESC.

Result - 70A and 1300W. I think it should fly *well* but i feel like i should go 6S on this bad boy ! i reckon it should be closer to 2kW.

Here are some pics of my plane with the mods i did.

oops! I missed that. Thanks. I just didn't do the math but that makes it pretty clear. Strange that your Amps went down to 65 WOT?

Ooo! Magnets on the top deck to keep it in place better...I think I need to do that as well. It won't come off as it is but that should keep it locked down tight. What weight are you at with everything? You are getting identical readings on power as I am so I am curious to know how she flies. Mine fly's "fine" on 5C but it's lacking power. 6C should fix that right up. Currently I'm at 5.6 Pounds but I'm about to shed 100 grams of weight (making it 5.37) switching to the 6C. I wish I could get to a straight 5 but I like the rest of the gear as it is.

12 flights now. Got a nearly new TP 6s 5000 25c but am afraid to try it. Afraid of a smoke trail.

rcvincent, WOW 1700 for js1490 would be great! Please tell me how to reach this goal! I really like this motor for it has a GREAT flight time. How did you get it to near 1700 watts? 6 cell? 8cell? As for the KILLER 90mm motor that thing is MAD CRAZY! Gezz 4000 watt, I might have to bring my power generator to run that thing . Midi fan might not be for that motor. What fan are you gona recommend for that one?

6 cells and 77 amps is 1700 watts Yeah the killer motor will need like a TJ100, or a Stumax, or a DS-51 Something that will be able to handle it.

Upper side of the wings has a FLAT carbon spar sliced and glued into the wings.

Here is what i have done with the nose gear so far. the black plastic piece is a Futaba servo horn.

I noticed most of the side slop comes fromt he channel in which the strut bolt runs in. how can i fix this ?

I ran up the twin Haoye/LS 1490 setup yesterday. The first part of the clip shows the watts up meter...

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...05#post12291448

try this one if the above doesn't work...

Don't watch the rest of the clip if you don't want to see an "ugly" A-10

i3dm, The strut is the culprit up front. Guys have tried everything from sleeving the channel to locking it out but ultimately it comes down to poor design/execution and the only real fix is replacement. Due to my own bad luck/incompetance my original strut is fubar so I adapted the Haoye FA-18 nose strut and it works great. I'm sure there are other alternatives out there, it might just take some looking
