I wonder what terminal velocity for this is in a vertical dive a full power?

I won't be testing that on the maiden

Tiger

I have the 64mm version starmax makes. But I think my pilot is much more realistic for the Tiger version.

Hello F 18 folks,
By the time I enlist questions on this, it will probably be gone, but from my meager expirence w/ EDF's, it appears this plane will be considerably underpowered w/ the replacement fans & motors added ? Also, I've skimmed thru this thread & do not see mention about the twin 70 version of this plane or the "on board compressor' for the retracts ?
Yes, I would like to purchase the plane but have apprehensions--any comments would be appreciated.

The one your looking at for sale on rcuniverse is not this plane actually. BH use to carry that one but this F 18 is a different bird. This one is a single 90mm edf unit with mechanical retracts. Runs on 5 to 6s packs. BH hasn't had that one your mentioning in quite some time.

I hope the est. ship date of 11 june is close to accurate. I really hate that everything you want in this hobby is always backorder or not available when you want it..

I highly recommend going higher. 20 or 25 at least. This plane needs the extra oomph.

My wife bought me this bird for my B-day. Got some questions for ya all before i start buying more lipos. Ive skimmed through the thread but wow, 100 pages of reading is alot to search through.

I dont have any 5s batterys so i am thinking of pralleling a 3s and 2s together. The recomended battery is a 3700mah 5s, will the stock power system handle 6s?

How big of a 5s lipo can you fly this on without having to worry about the CG getting too nose heavy? I was thinking of 4500mah or something in that size.

I got a good deal on a TP 6s 5000 and the plane balances at the forward CG limit with it. With the supplied 5s 3700 in the PNP, I carry 3 oz. of lead in the battery compartment. It balances at 100mm like that. I once took off without the lead and it was pretty exciting. Pitch stability was so-so but it felt like it was balanced on a pin in the roll axis. Broke da nosegear on that landing. Put red stripes inside the batt compartment to remind me to add the lead. Still chicken about trying the 6s.
