They are a tight fit, just use a small screw driver & carefully pry it out on each side a bit at a time it should come out.

I have been thinking about making a TVP chassis for the silverlit & just use the original front forks & rear swing arm set up i took some measurements the other day i just need to get some alloy plate.
I wonder what the belt & pulley's are off, the rear pulley dos'nt seem to have a guide face to stop belt run off, i hope he can get it up & running it would be good to see.

Thanks guys.

This is the shaft and pulley that I am using.

The gear I have is 66T. You can find them at the bottom of this page.

Once I finish it I will take many pics and measurements for you dont you worry lol. I really dont love doing this stuff but I cant help it once I have an idea stuck in my head, I force myself to make it. If you have not seen the "Micro custom bikes" thread I suggest you check it out! It has a few builds on it and lots of info too on what parts to use.

Throttle;
The rear pulley is home made. I molded it and is made of epoxy resin. The belt is from a T-rex 450se heli and has obviously been shortened (I can make around 5 belts for my bike from the one t-rex belt). Today I got the motor mounted on and have tested out the drive system and it all works mint the way it is. The belt has no chance of coming off on its own and if it ever does I would simply make a guide/fence.

Once I finish I will take many pics including the fork disassembled.

Jake

That's awesome Jake very clever im in awe, i love making & modding stuff as well but like Nev i don't have access to lathes or cnc, just the basic tools at home, yeah i would like to see those forks disassembled were they made on a lathe?

Keep us posted on your progress & can't wait to see it in action.

Cheers Mate.

nice work jake

i think i will have to keep tabs on this thread.
i have done alot of micro helis, but have only just got into rc bikes.
looks like there is alot that can be done ... might have to get a few other projects finished before i start anymore

and i might have some other motor/esc combos that are worth thrying if you need more power
some of the micro heli stuff is the same size as the losi setup... but the losi wont get a heli off the ground. and the good heli setups can do 3D aerobatics

cheers

I don't have access to lathes or cnc either. I just use hand drills, many files, and a very accurate ruler.

Yes there are many micro BL motors out now which is awesome. The 5800kv I have in the bike now seems to have plenty power for the bike on 2s. The losi motor I have was once mounted in my 4#3 heli and worked well. The Helimax BL motors look like they would be perfect for 1:12 bikes but are $40 at my LHS.

Thanks Nevped. Ill take a few more pics some time today. Ill take the fork apart too

Jake

Here are a few more pics

You will see that the fork is simple. The blue on the top of the fork legs is just a locknut that has been mounted on a dremel and filed round and then drilled out. One of them didnt turnout very well for me so I will be making another some time.
