Repost - NTL strikes again - Boring Head - B~head.jpg (0/1)

Bob.,
You're right - I wasn't clear enough.
It seems to be of the type sold by Warco and I'm attaching a jpg from
their catalogue. They state "the tool holder swings thro' 90 degrees"
but I don't even understand that since it will swing thro 180 on the
one I've got - but maybe that's a clue!

The purpose of the swinging bar is that it can be locked at 90
to the mill spindle, for larger holes and then swung down so that it
lies parallel to the mill spindle axis for smaller holes.
That it can swing further than that is not of any consequence.
The makers have decided that a stop to retrict movement is unnecessary.
