Great work, just as I was warming up the search engine What are the voltages on these units? Have you measured the actual draw?

PMed you to get a couple of the greens on my order.

Thanks

Steven

LED Current

Steven,

Your all set!

The current draw and voltages are as follows:

Red - 20 mA @ 2.2V

Yellow 20 mA @ 2.4V

Green 20 mA @ 3.5V

Orange 20 mA @ 2.4V

White 20 mA @3.4V

I will includes 1/8watt resitors with every LED to drop the BEC 5V to the correct LED voltage

As you can see, you can run quite a few LED's before it even has an effect on the battery or BEC!

-Mark

BTW- I was also told you can pump the current to 30 mA and the output is even bighter - you may lose run time though. At 20mA, runtime is 20,000 hours!

If you want them I have 1 or 2 left, but I can rustle up a few more.

Resistor

Stephen,

Without getting too much into electronics ---use a resitor for EVERY led and run in parallel-- a 1/8 resistor is basically weightless

There was an answer in the 'DIY lighting' thread in the parkflyer forum... its got to do with the fact that the voltage drop accross each LED is only .7V, so in effect you WAY over amp the LED's.

Here's a copy from the thread:

It's all about the current. LED's are spcified by their maximum current. A LED has a .7V drop from anode (+) to cathode. Two in series = 1.4V drop with negligable resistance. Therefore, your current I = was 3.6A....did they glow then blow

Most LEDs are speced at 20mA (.020A). To get there from here you would need a (R=V/I R=3.6/.020 R=180ohm) 180ohm resistor . Of course adding in some safty factor and maybe standardizing on a resistor of 220 ohms (Red Red Black) would be good too.
