That's some beautiful work there.

I must admit though, that there are only two pieces of ply in my MXS. A rectangular piece for the motor mount/firewall, and another rectangular piece for the undercarriage mounting plate.

Thanks for your comments. Unfortunately this project is currently way on the back burner (in the middle of building prototype 2) so please don't hold your breath on any work here soon I'm not sure I would do a re-design in the vein you describe as this whole project was an attempt to get away from simpler design concepts and see how much the envelope could be pushed by moving to some more involved and optimized processes (thus requiring more varied materials).

There are plenty of other good designs out there that provide what you want and I'm sure you could easily adapt them to the shape and size of the MXS by taking the profiles from this plane and cutting your your parts to that shape.

I'm not saying that I won't re-visit this later but for now I am swamped with other stuff.

Certainly agree. This is one of the coolest 3D scratch builds I have seen in a while. Need simplified plans and detailed plans/ instructions. When you get time there are many of us who would be grateful.

Great work on your MXS BTW!

Hi,

The motor you have is too high a KV, for this plane you want to have something in the 1000 - 1250 range with a 10X4.7SF or something close to that.

Although the plane will fly with the 2200 3S battery I usually fly it with anything from a 1000mAh - 1500mAh battery so the 2200 may be a little heavy.

A good setup for this plane would look like this:

ESC: http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store...e_Series_.html
Battery: http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store...Lipo_Pack.html
