Dag, excuse the analogy but, calling yourself an "average modeler" is like saying that Michelangelo was "pretty handy with a paintbrush"...

Love the build, you got mad skills, bro!

Thanks all for the great comments.

I have cleared out my schedule to take off around 2 tomorrow so I can get some B-36 stuff done.

I also added to my Blog page a thread called " My Junk Drawer". It will be a place we can all post anything AVIATION related and not derail this thread.

I think I'm looking forward to seeing this fly more than I'm looking forward to watching the new Mars rover land on Sunday!

I was out at Pima Air & Space Museum today and grabbed a few photos of the B-36. Just figured I would post them here.

Didn't say how the Titanic looked after the build, good, bad or not-bad-for-a-first-try.... Glad that you got a young person started on a model-building hobby.

Don't wish for an 8-day week.... your wife will find out about it and load you up with a 3-day-weekend set of tasks and ask the trick question "you mean it's not three days of weekend?"

Up here in Ontgario, it's Civic Holiday or Simcoe Day.

My wife's got the weekend organized already -- house and yard work that's been undone due to the heat and humidity. Good thing that I have no planes ready to fly.... May get time to work on them, though.

Have a greate weekend, everyone; and remember: the only guy who got things done by Friday was Robinson Crusoe.....

Just lurking here!

I want to say what you did for the kid was much more important than anything you could have accomplished on your bird . and, it will last throughout that kids life.

way to go!

It looked ok..... Free handed all the painting so the lines where not great.... This kid had never built a glue-together model before..... But he was very happy when it was done.... He is a great kid, but this was way to high of a skill level for you first model.....

Rock ON!!!

Thanks!!!!!
Kids are cool.... many can drive you nuts, but when one like planes or models, then well......they rock!!!!

This kid is always hanging out in my shop... he keeps saying " so when is the bomber going to fly?" I say soon I hope.....

The day the 36 flies will be a cool day for a bunch of people.... Been a very long project, but I am really getting into the get it finished bug again. J Moran's C119 has really made me want to get in the shop more. What a unreal builder he is.... I look at his and the DC6 thread everyday for updates.....
