I responded to your PM, Thanks a ton.

It is the largest electric fly-in on the planet ( I think a Bazillion people show up, a can't miss event), at least that is what I have heard.

Thanks, DAG

Hi Dag....

"Sans" means "without"... I.E. "without edfs"

Cool Must be an engineering thing, or British , my mates over the pond always use words I have never heard.

DAg,

On the EDF's, since you don't really need them for added power (I think you've got enough power already), how about just buying up cheap ones with cheap motors just so they spin up and sound cool?

There are cheap edf's out there that have decent performance. Go with some cheap esc's and cheap batteries, and you should be able to get it up for <<$300 for both sets.

If that is true, then I will look into it. I will check the size of my fan and post it and see if there is anything close. I want the nacelle to still be to scale.

Thanks a bunch,
DAG

I'd say model the nacelles scale and forget the EDF's. Maybe you could build a whistle into them.

build the pod and put a smoke system in them. you can but ones that don't need an engine for them to work.

I bet you can get similar things over the pond.

smoke would look really cool and smoke on all six nacelles would make the ilusion on contrails

You probably already know this, but since the jet engine pods on the B-36 were only used for takeoff and high-speed dashes, they had a series of metal "petals" that opened up to close off the opening. This prevented the turbines from windmilling and also probably reduced drag.

Just make the petals in the closed position, no worries about all the complexities of adding edfs.

I like that idea Angelo.

Edit: Those smoke systems are the same thing Hobby-Lobby sells. They work.. but don't put out a whole lot of smoke.
