Gonna post it all there. While I can't join their contest as I'm much too far away, it will be fun to build with them.
Good game.

Hi all, I've been away from RCG for a couple of weeks and only just caught up I filled my car up today and after the fuel duty increase and the VAT (Value Added Tax) increase I had to pay 1.30 a litre for super unleaded that works out to an eye watering $7.68 per US Gallon, and that was at supermarket prices too. OUCH!! Then the nice lady told me it was going up again tonight

Lightening up a little James May sold his Cessna and now has a red Decathlon, Now those in the know. What is his catch phrase when it inevitably goes wrong? Here's a clue the Decathlons registration is G-OCOK.

Ouch. And it pains me when I have to pay almost $3/gal.

Oh the days when a gallon of gas was then a dollar. You could actually go somewhere on $5.

How about 25 cents a gallon. 4-5 friends at a buck or two each filled my dad's car and boat for a day of waterskiing. Fun, but I wouldn't want to go back and do it over again.

$3.30 a gallon by my house for the cheap stuff, $3.60 for super. But it could easily be $8 a gallon if we allowed every local tax to be rolled into fuel surcharges like it is elsewhere in the world. We all pay for it, one way or another Unless we say no, of course!

Tell you guys something. A resident in the apartment building I run has his dad as co-signer. Dad's a big shot in 'energy', meaning oil. Dad pulls in $12,000.00 a day! U.S. or Australian dollars, it doesn't matter. 12k a day for one guy. Don't let them tell us it's all taxes 'cause it ain't.

OK we're wondering off topic again BUT here I go again.
Here is the breakdown of the UK's petrol (gas) price:
Regular unleaded @ 126.9 pence per litre;
Product 41.8 pence;
Retailer 5 pence;
Fuel Duty 58.95 pence;
V A T 21.15 pence.
Yes we pay tax on top of fuel duty.

1.275 Euro per liter in Mallorca.

At the current dollar to Euro rate, that translates to $6.65/gallon...Needless to say, my 5.7L Magnum RT does not get driven much!

A dollar a gallon ???
I can remember weekend gas wars!!!
A 15 gallon tank of fuel, a McDonalds cheeseburger and, an order of fries, and a medium coca-cola, all paid for with a five dollar bill and a few cents change left over!
And an attendant pumped your gas, checked your oil and washed your windshield!

Weekend gas prices when Premium gas was a whopping 18 cents per gallon!
Weekday prices were around 27 to 29 cents a gallon !

You could fill the tank on the average high wing general aviation airplane. pay for it with a $20 bill, and get change back!
