Alas, I see the YB-60 is no longer on the list. Most of the design work is already done, and it would be truly unique, but if those cost figures are right, I can see why you won't do it. You sure it won't work with 6 Vio-fans?

Most of the replies seem to favor the C-130. It's a legendary plane, but, at least to me, it's no where near as fascinating as the XB-70 or B-58.

I think what I will do is spend the next few months finalizing what it would take to build a C130, or a XB-70, or a B-58. Then I may still finish my designs on my T-28, and 68% Pitts S-1. The later planes would have to be big IC engines and at this time I really want another huge electric project.

Thanks, DAG
I am building a 1/8 C-130 now and I imagine the size of parts that you will have, I have a laser with 24"x 48" table that I can use to cut you the parts with a very low price fee if you want, that will reduce your cost and time for this model.

Hi Alex,
Sorry for the late reply. I knew this post was here somewhere but lost it with all the pages that pop up. I would love to share data on anything about the C-130. Do you have any CAD, or drawings I can check my 3D against?

Thanks, DAG

Hi Alex, LOL I didn't see this post before answering you other. By the time I would get to cutting I may take you up on laser cutting.

Thanks, DAG

Just the shear cost of the Yb-60 will make it not doable for at least 4-5 years.

Thanks, DAG

I would love to have a copy, but I don't want to waste your time. Does the manual have much systems drawings and info, like flaps, gear, rear door.....

Thanks, DAG

Hey Dag!
It's incredible that you are already planning well ahead on your next major project - you are an inspiration to all beginner builders like myself! I praise the day I found this thread!
Thank you once again!

Dag, yes I have all in AutoCad and I can send you my formers, due to the lack of information of the real airplane I used a large plastic model, 3 view drawings and some old plans base on that I made a small version just to try and now I am building the model and also with some extra modifications that show up during the building process, let me know the way to send you the file.

Alex, it would be nice if you would start a thread about your C130 build. I flew the C130 for about 8 years and am thinking about building a model. Will you be selling laser cut parts for it? Chuck
