however, there is one other thing. the swash on the genesis is different. it has 4 mounting points instead of three. therefore you are committed to the genesis part, or u will need to add an anti rotation pin on a trex/exi/exceed/etc standard swash yourself if you need to replace it. drilling tapping, all that. so let us know how the maiden goes frac |

I am pretty sure I am just overanalyzing it, and seeing how I refresh the UPS tracking page every 10 minutes to see whether it's delivered yet, I don't think I can wait 2 more weeks to turn around.
![]() I need to fly it today!!!! |

![]() just make sure u check the setup and don't do anything stoopid. the carbon blades are not especially durable, but they will survive a few minor crashes. hope u got spares of some sort? i use plastic blades and they almost never break. they are also a LOT more heavy and dangerous. the electronics are nice in that if you don't have the tx on or if the throttle is up and TH is off , or if IDUP is on and TH is off, it will not arm. if it loses signal, the heli turns off. this radio was done right. EDIT oops! turns out these safety functions are done by the ESC not the radio and the esc is very easy to program with the tx, but it's fine as received. i do NOT recommend that you use IDUP unless you know what you are doing. the heli as setup from the box has a **very** high headspeed in IDUP and it will hurt you bad. u might want to take the IDUP throttle curve down to 60-70% max in the TX you also need to check screws and loctite things like the blade grip screws. check that loops are not to tight and binding. i have personally had the blade grips let loose when a screw backed out. not fun especially with the plastic blades. good luck and go slow....over eager and careless may equal bloodshed ![]() frac Last edited by frac; Nov 16, 2008 at 03:44 PM. |

Wow, just wow. This thing is awesome. Within 10 minutes of opening the box, I was hovering.
Yeah, yeah, sorry, I should've listened to you, frac, but man, I just can't resist the temptation! Some trims were off a bit, so I am loading t6config now to see if I can fix it, but it was very stable and very responsive. The canopy is very cheap, and actually had a crack on it when it arrived, I just taped it out, not going to send it back due to that. The gyro is also loose though, but seems like the stock tape still has some stickiness to it, so I just hold it back for 10 seconds or so and it seems to be okay. Should I use a new tape for the gyro? Well, I can't wait to fly it outside tomorrow...

new xheli parts shipping rate
xheli has just instituted a special postage rate for parts orders ONLY.
$4.95, whatever the quantity, USA only. they say your order will be canceled if u use this option on anything else but parts. a bit easier than having to stack $50 of parts for cjfree2 coupon savings. frac |

just wrap some scotch tape around the gyro/boom support. it needs not to move wrt the heli. you should have received a small velcro tape to do this job. get the exi31124 canopy i mentioned above when you place your first parts order. cheaper and better but currently OOS it's not such a great idea to fly it indoors ![]() next stop probably more batteries eh? ![]() frac Last edited by frac; Nov 14, 2008 at 02:25 AM. |

I thought that velcro tape is for holding down the battery? I didn't realize it's for the gyro as well. Do I need to velcro wrap down the battery or just use the one side velcro is sufficient?

scotch tape however is more secure. yeah u should use a strap or a rubber band around the battery near the head to secure it....esp if u plan on crashing ![]() pay attention to my next message ... ![]() frac |

ALWAYS check the screws...loctite them
i developed a case of sticky collective again and usually i look at the head piece for bent pins...after straightening them i still had the problem.
as i moved the throttle i noticed that the flybar was moving as if caught on something... it was. one of the screws on a ball on a mixer arm had backed out and was hitting the flybar frame causing the sticky collective. the mixing arms themselves were also a bit loose. tightened them up and the heli now flies fine. the thing to note about this is that this is my new bird and it's been hardly used. already screws are loosening or were not properly tightened at assembly. you MUST check the screws in the head and other crucial areas before every flight session. esp the blade grips. you would be VERY FOOLISH not to put loctite on the head screws because they loosen easily. take this advice from a first class fool who has learned his lesson, luckily before he got hurt or destroyed his bird. frac |

Blue Ray 450PE
I also just bought my Blueray 450 PE and this is my first heli so of course i am still learning. BUT i was not able to fly with in hours of recieving my Blueray because of that noob thing but learned very fast with the help of this forum, and FINBOB. My copter did arrive fine the reciever ready version i allready had Spektrum DX6 Radio. I have found you can get it in the air as is but you still need to go over the entire bird with a fine tooth comb and adjust everything. So far i have not crashed i keep fighting that Black Noobie monster that tries to bite me but just taking it slow and trimming it out to get to hover. The Battery pack is cheapO. I have trouble having enough time to even trim out before it dies. Most of my time is spent at about 55% throttle then back to the ground adjust trim try again. I Do have a question does anydody have the Worded build manuall? Part of the problem when you buy RTF.

Rob,
Welcome to the PE world. frac and melvinc here have been a lot of help so far. ![]() Nope, even with my RTF version, it didn't come with any decent manual. One 4 page pamphlet is all I got. |

I wrap a ziptie around the gyro rather than velcro it.
I broke one of the landing skid already, the plastic portion. I'll try to superglue it back, but don't think it will hold that well. It doesn't seem to affect the flying charactertics, so I'll just keep on flying it and get this part later when I break something else. It really wasn't that big of a drop, maybe a foot or so? Still having a blast with it. It was fairly calm outside so I tried to dial it in, but still couldn't get it to be super stable yet.
