GAUI GU-365 Flybarless E-Stabilizer System Thread

GAUI Flybarless E-Stabilizer GU-365

FES gyro is very very easy in setting, customer just have to finish all setting on his
transmitter, then connect the gyro and receiver and set a switch for initialization, all data on the transmitter will be programed into the FES gyro immediately, if he wants to change the initial setting, just adjust it on the transmitter and set the switch again for initialization. And the customer do not even have to buy the tail gyro such as Futaba GY-401 for his heli, because the FES gyro come with 3-Axis gyro and the tail gyro is also
included.

Specifications :
Control system : AHDCS (Active Helicopter Digital Control System)
Content : 3-Axis gyro
Operating voltage : 4 ~ 6V DC
Dimensions : 44.5 x 31 x 14mm
Weight: 18g

Hi fung,

Can you post further documentation?
I can see 6 inputs to the device, 3 cyclics, tail, tail delay, and what?

Regards,

Vincent

Yes, I just ordered 2 GU365 and 3 head conversion kits for all my helis (200, 450, 550). But interested to see GU365 manual if such already exists

I'm really tempted to order one but I don't understand how the programming is done. Settings are done in the transmitter and transfered to the unit?!?! I can imagine to setup the basic headmix this way but how are the characteristics of the "virtual flybar" set (damping, ratio etc.)? Which parameters are available?

Please give us more details or better than that provide the manual!

Cheers,
Ruben

This is what I have been waiting for, a cheap flybarless system. Shall have to wait to see if it is any good. Looks ok so far. Does it work on any size heli?

Thank you for the manual!

Hmm...seems to have only very basic functionality. I wonder what kind of sensors it uses and if there are any drift issues.

Will wait till the first real world reports are available....

This GU-365 availability is a very good news for our Hurricanes 550.

But the GU-365 is only the electronic part !? I guess that we need to add the GAUI 425-550 Size Flybarless Rotor Head (# 204682 ) at 99$ ? Is it all that we need (GU-365 + 99$ Rotor head) to complete the conversion ? Are there other better flybar-less rotor head on the market for the Hurricane 550 ?

Anyway, the tests will be very interesting to answers those 2 questions:

- Does the system provide better efficiency that translate into increased flying time ?

- Can the system be programmes/tuned to increase stability in order to provide a "safer" flight for beginers/NON-good pilots ?

Looking forward hearing the first real test results

I don't know what others may think but I really don't care too much if the heli is easier to control with it (I even hope it is not). I don't want an autopilot but an electronic flybar that emulates the effects of real, mechanical flybar.

At best the virtual flybar system should provide adjustable parameters like virtual paddle size/area, virtual paddle weight, virtual flybar length and adjustable virtual Bell/Hiller control ratio. It would allow tuning in a similar way as a mechanical flybar.

Advantages would be great! Head setup can be changed on the fly, simplified mechanics, same flight experience and as you mentioned no power wasted.

I think the gaui system lacks some adjustability and I would miss the options an old school mechano flybar gives me to tune the helis flight characteristics to my taste. Sure it will be great for scale helis.

At least I would like to have the option to tune the input control dampening and self stabilisation effect as separate parameters.

Cheers,
Ruben
