Question
Do Spektrum AR7000/AR500 receivers use "JR" type servo connectors?

I want to use my $20 off at Tower Hobbies and buy some bulk servo connectors for use on my Spektrum AR7000 and AR500 receivers and Spektrum servos.

Tower has the following to choose from. (I'm showing just the male versions, but they have the same 3 choices in female of course.)

1) EMS Unassembled Male Connectors Futaba J
2) EMS Unassembled Male Connector J
3) EMS Unassembled Male Connector JR/Hitec/Z

3) is the correct servo connector.

1) and 2) should be the same. They'll fit Spektrum and JR receivers after some modification.

I don't know if the differences are pin size, pin spacing, or shell keying, or what. I noticed the Futaba connector shells in the pictures on the the Tower web site had neat little notches in the plastic, that seem to be for hooking your fingernail under to unplug them. But since I don't know what the modifications are, I'll play it safe and go with #3.
Thanks a bunch.

The only difference between Futaba J and JR/H/Z is that Futaba J has a polarity tab on the side, and JR/H/Z have little beveled edges. JR/H/Z plugs fit Futaba receivers as is, Futaba J plugs can hit JR/H/Z after a moment's work with an sharp knife.

That's not bad. So they could be adapted in a pinch.
Thanks.

This is an old thread, but checking to make sure the pin sizes are the same. If all you have to do is file of the tab, then I am assuming the pins are the same.

As stated above, the only difference is the tab and bevelled edges.
