Bad Karma at Flying Field? aka Help! Our field needs a Exorcism!

This summer has a been a relatively pain free one for my flying field, but the last few weeks have been marred with 2-3 crashes every weekend. Some of the highlights (lowlights) have been a 1.20 Yak breaking its carbon gear and prop, a $1,400 Extra totaled, and my Groove finally biting the dust. There were also numerous others, mostly trainers going down, especially some new guys who soloed this summer. So I was just wondering if anyone around here believes in good/bad karma, in respect to flying. Or, are there any other explanations (turbulance from tropical storms/hurricanes). I just find it really odd that so many planes went down, and I figured there have got to be people around here with their opinions.

Nick

There's got to be a Zagi involved in this somehow.

I think an entire weekend with only 2 to 3 crashes might be a good weekend at my club.

Does anyone have a channel checker? We found at our flying field, now and then we get all kinds of signals on our channel checkers. One night three of them like up like christmas trees. All kinds of channels were on, no one was in the air. We lost 4 airplanes in two days. Those nights the channel checkers lit up.

All of us flying 2.4 had no trouble, but all 72 guys had trouble.

The same thing happened a couple of months ago at our field. Prior to that weekend, we always had to deal with gusting winds, which we all did with no problems. Finally we had a weekend with winds below 5 mph, CAVU, and planes just started falling out of the sky!!!! Even planes owned by experienced pilots! Very Wierd!

I got away relatively unscathed (thank God), but some had totalled planes!

Time to call in a priest before planes start spewing pea soup out their mufflers.

Our club needs an exorcism too: one of the neighbors forgot they bought a house next to an airport, and complained to the owner about noise. Some people have the most amazing hearing.

At a guess I'd say that you've neglected your Sky Scooter sacrifice. The airplane gods don't like it when you do that.
