I have my Skywalker working well. RTH is spot on.

My question is

If I increase the values on the stab pitch normal/stab roll normal will that give me more maneuverability in normal flight without effecting RTH?

Also how much should I increase them?

OK I have attempted to read through much of this thread and my head hurts. Anyway here is what I ordered, an EagleTree Elogger V4 and GPS V4. What else do I need for Limited FPV flight? I assume the OSD and transmitter?
What about receiving system googles and such?
Seems to be many choices and some may be going away with the FAA changes coming up.
Thanks, if I am in the wrong thread pse let me know.

For FPV (first person view) you need a video camera, video transmitter, video receiver, and either a small T.V. set with A/V inputs or goggles.

You don't need the eLogger, GPS or OSD.

Well,

I've been flying eagle tree for over a year now, and I must say that I still love my ET.

However due to my own mistakes, I have lost my plane in some of the most inhospitable terrain that you can think of.

It will be nothing short of a miracle if I find it...

hi Mike,

iīm sooo sorry about your loss of the plane

but your plane died like a hero ... during a flight on a famous destination. my last yearīs plane died in a stupid way. i crashed it through a high-voltage pole.

pls, donīt give up ... build up another platform. with all your knowledge about fpv iīm sure that this will be a great success.

cheers Thomas

Tell yourself it's all part of the adventure.....it helps me when I start a search. I currently have 3fpv airframes MIA. I fly in hong kong and you make it to the field or you are deep in the jungle.

Good luck

Mike,

It happened to me too, last February.. RTH failed me .. Lost my Twinstar...
Only it was more my mistake not having RTH completely dialed in..
It sure does sting though taking a loss like that.. Like getting " kicked to the curb"..
I took a couple of months off and then dove into another Twinstar build ...

I think I'm getting smarter now.. I just ordered one of these...

Yep, that GPS Tracker is the one I got. Works surprisingly well, I removed the casing to save some weight but kept it's battery. Good purchase

I wonder if Bill has pondered the idea of including this technology into his repitoire of features into the OSD?? It would certainly complement the RTH feature.. Being able to find your plane if RTH fails you.

Hi Mykro,
something similar is already included. eagle eyes with lcd-display shows gps-coordinates and holds the last known coordinates.
but this doesnīt help if the plane flies after the loss of the video-signal

cheers Thomas

G-Force through Guardian?

Hi folks,
Can I get the g-force value through the guardian sensor? I know there is a specific expander for that but since the guardian has an accelerometer I wonder if I could get that reading from it. I selected "g-force" (X,Y,Z axis) to display on my osd pro and shaked my plane (cant fly today) but values stayed at 0.00.
Cheers,

No. You need the expander.

Thank you guys for your support.

I'm still floored over loosing that much $$$.

I have hopes of it being found, but I am finding that it will almost take a miracle.

The thing that upsets me most (besides the money) is loosing the video of the flight.

It was hands down the most amazing personal FPV flight to date.

I won't hang it up.

And for the record, I tested RTH when I first took off; It was working flawlessly, It was just in a situation where the plane couldn't make it back.

That GPS tracker is getting more appealing to me. When you guys were discussing it on another thread, I didn't like the idea of having to pay for a cell service, but it looks like there is more too it. I would like to hear more about the
the way it sends a signal, and all of it's options.

I did a google search and came up with this thread about GPS tracking for FPV..

Hope this helps..
