3DHS 47" Extra 300 SHP or Precision Aerobatics 48" Extra 260

I have been looking at what would be a good next plane for someone who has been learning 3D with the Hyperion Sniper and practicing aerobatics with the Stevensaero Shaft. The two planes that kept coming up are the 3DHS Extra 300 SHP and the PA Extra 260. Having flown two Stevenaeros planes, I am kind of partial to light weight planes and so the PA Extra 260 is attractive to me. However, I have also heard that the 3DHS Extra 300 is very gentle and would provide a good transition to larger planes from the 16 oz ones.

Can someone who had moved up a similar path (plane-wise) and has flown both planes describe your experience with them?

thanks
mike

My suggestion is to search both threads, ask questions there and scrutinize the videos carefully. Otherwise, it'll turn into a Ford vs Chevy debate as both have their loyal following. FWIW, you can't go wrong with both.

I have read through both threads and watched many videos there. The videos were fun to watch but I could not really tell much from them. They both seemed to be able to do a lot. Perhaps that's the reason both BoneDoc and poring said that I would be happy with either one. The one thing that seemed to be missing (or that I missed) in the threads was someone who was just getting into this size plane, had flown both and compared the two.

Both are great, I fly both of them. I would actually recommend the PA Katana MD over the 260.
The previous post are correct, all choices are great planes.

I have them both...both are great planes....My SHP gets way more air time...but then again its the newest plane I have. I seem to be able to 3d better with the SHP and I have an easier time in the wind with it . If I had to pick only one it would be the SHP...thats my opinion. Again...you cant go wrong with either one.

I have them both also, the SHP is way more forgiving than the P.A. The the P.A. is very light, and a very good looking airplane, but wing rock in up right harrier. Read all the threads before you buy....
