I have both the _1 and the _1_1, and I cannot tell any difference between the two when holding them together in my hand. Maybe the newer one is made of a different type of plastic. I used the _1 for about a year with no problems and retired it just on principle.

Thanks, Jovanx. I figured _1 was probably okay (but _1_1 is probably even more reliable).
It's just that after reading these threads the other day, I was worried my Radian was going to fall out of the sky and kill somebody (or end up in the drink, as I was flying over water a lot) |

you guys have been so technical lately that I had to go out and lose my wings in flight just to amuse you all- My _1 prop broke in flight and shook the wings out of the saddle- the plane fell into a river and Eckace waded out to save my plane- what a friend...what an awesome crash video I got out of it.... enjoy

model airplanes: wondrous madness
somehow this reminds me of what i say in my blog:
Biography my view of life: 'But I don't want to go among mad people,' said Alice. 'Oh, you can't help that,' said the cat. 'We're all mad here.' (from 'Alice in Wonderland') |

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1340015 and do a search of that thread for "gps locator" and you'll find several posts where that has been discussed including supplier links. If you do the same by searching all of RCG you'll probably get to many hits with a lot of noise. My FAV is " get a amateur radio licence and use http://www.byonics.com/mf " but I'm biased and already had the licence, the 2m APRS receiving equipment GPS and TX for APRS But with a licence and TX you can also track on your smartphone linking to sites such as http://aprs.fi/#!mt=roadmap&z=11&cal...timerange=3600 or http://aprs.fi/#!mt=roadmap&z=11&ts=...l=a%2FVE4YZ-11 - zoom to see details and click on waypoints. Clicking on "show telemetry" will give you the GPS coordinates.
