I haven't had a failed spinner but when it started up now and then it would make a loud bang. I started holding the nose toward the ground and just cracking the throttle to get it spinning and extended then bringing it up and gas it to throw. I did lose a prop and spinner once but that was because I let some thread lock get on the plastic. Just ate it and let the assembly fly off at 300 feet.

this video has no crucial information at all- and not much controversy- Enjoy- or not-lol
I have kept out of the way recently but I have been observing-
and by the way- we are buying new Radians to do the mods and see for ourselves- either way - I bet they still fly decent..

Flying around a grain elevator in Iowa- a bad spin from loss of orientation and a hand catch and a landing into another plane- with a buzzard or two thrown in...

Radians fly Pleasant Hill grain elevator with a bad spin (7 min 48 sec)

Great video.
Stunning area and very entertaining flying

Only been up to 1400 feet with mine so far but your altitude is very inspiring.

Just a word of caution - after you complete the D-mod do some hand-toss power-off glide tests to reestablish the COG. You will need to move it toward the tail as a result of having changed the horizontal stabilizer incidence.

How do you see it that high....I am pretty new at this sail plane stuff, and was crusing around getting the feel for in and wondering how you find thermals and woosh the plane just went up...and up....and up....well you get the idea till it was a dot. I actually thought I was going to loose it so I pointed the nose down and it took a while for it to get close. I think I am going to paint the underside of the wings two different colors to make it easy to tell.

Just make the underside of the wings and the h-stab a very dark color. Once you get up there you can't really see color differences. It all looks black. But the dark shows up better against the sky. And you can tell where you are by seeing dark under wing vs. light upper wing.

It won't help. As Aeajr posted you can't distinguish colors at great distance. Best to use solid black.

Radio setup for Pual Naton's flap mod

Anyone know how his radio setup for the flap mod? Was it just flaps or flapron?

I am using 9303 and would like to:
Flaps on 3 pos switch
Rudder on right-stick
Throttel on left-stick.

I know how to setup flaperon. For thid radian, I love to use Rudder as my primary turning control, no flaperon for me.I want my Rudder on the right-stick. Can this be done?

Thanks.

Ronald

At first I couldn't figure out what the holes in the wings were for. I thought maybe they were to let air out as you are shoving the spar into the wing, but the Radian Pro doesn't have them. Then I realized they must be there for holding the wings on, since there didn't seem to be anything else holding them.

I know there's this other guy on the net who uses bungee cords, but I just thought I would share this picture of a different way to do it. The hooks can be easily separated for transport.

The bungy cord seems a bit much. I just glue small hooks under the wings and use a stout rubber band between them.

My Radian went in yesterday. It broke the nose off and cracked the fuse towards the tail. The ESC quit. Horizon said they would a new fuse, servos and ESC.

Hey Ronald how are you, Paul uses flaperons on the latest mod, but he said you don't have to. You want throttle on the right? Is that not mode 1 setting? You want rudder channel on the right or just rudder plugged into the aileron channel?
