C of G mod
Hi,
I received my radian 2 days ago and when it came to measuring the c of g with the stock battery I found that with the battery placed in it's well I was very tail heavy. I don't know what modification they have done to the Radian for this to be the case (maybe lighter motor?). To get the c of g correct I had to place the battery just in front of the plastic Velcro support of the battery. To do this I placed an elastic band around the Velcro holder of the regulator and tied the two ends with some string (to avoid having to re thread the elastic after I take the battery out). I also glued in a piece of ply wood just in front of the plastic Velcro support of the battery to act as a backplate for the battery to sit against. All I have to do is thread the battery Velcro around the elastic band and tighten accordingly. Now my battery is secure in a more forward position allowing me to have the correct c of g. It is still a mystery why the newer Radians with the stock battery are tail heavy when placing the battery in the designated battery well. happy flying Hank. ![]() Here is a link to my Condor Voodoo maiden flight:
