I finally got to see a Polaris fly today - Dick Weaver had one at the "New Years' Day" fun fly out at Flaming Geyser park (the meet was postponed to today due to weather).
I couldn't watch in much because I was also flying at the time, but what I saw was impressive. It certainly handled the grass field better than my small planes did. It got up and went when he asked it to and had a rather insane roll rate. My robbe Gemini is like that, too.... |

Well, I had five kits on my Christmas "wish list" including the Polaris. I got two of them (SA Helium MG and FredE), but not the Polaris.
From a practical standpoint I have to thin the fleet quite a bit in order to make room for any new planes. One of the things that surprised me was that the Polaris is a bit bigger than I thought. I didn't get to ask Dick if his was the regular size or a scale-up. (He does build those Gemini-inspired flying W planes in a number of sizes). At the moment I can't really answer the "when" question, but I have a low-grade version of the disease already.
