If the repairs are made tightly and any excess glue is wiped off, the weight gain is minimal. I hold things together with pins and masking tape to get nice tight joints. Another thing I do is to mix in Microballoons, which add volume without much weight, and also give a nice white color, preventing the epoxy from turning yellow. If you do need to make an epoxy skin, such as on the battery tray to make the Velcro stick, the way to do it is to use a heat gun to warm up the epoxy, then squeegee it to get uniform coverage, and finally blot off as much as you can with toilet paper or paper towel. I can't comment on using Gorilla Glue for repairs as I haven't done much experimenting with it. I'm now starting to use Foam Tac more for building and it looks very promising for repairs. Will report further. |

Hi to everybody! At first sorry for this bad english ;-)
Another Polaris (Polar-Cat) flying in Germany Bavaria. I modified the download plan into a Polar-Cat. Let me tell you about my thoughts that came with the idea of building that great looking plane. ![]() The name of the plane "Polar - CAT" was the reason to search for a good looking Pilot. So i found one :-) That "gothic looking" kitty with the black skull bow tie. This cute looking head inspired me of an more darker and evil look for the Polar-Cat. So i decided to use colours that emphasize my propensity to the "Gothic culture" Black/violet :-) Making kind of a pirate amphibious vehicle :-) It took me almost 3 weeks to build in case of not having any hobby room. I used several cheap servos i have in my collection. A unused 40A ESC and a spektrum receiver. The motor i had in mind first, was to low in KV a 1000KV one that i had in my collection. So i bought a EMAX GF 2210/20 mit 1534 KV and a 7x6 propeller. The battery i use is a 3-S 900mAH. I wanted the plane as lightweight as i could do it. I managed 380g weight. I measured 10,5 A at full throttle. The slow flying skill of that plane are really fantastic. It flies like on a railroad. Very nice - i love it! Great work, even though the first realease is such a long time ago - much FUN ![]() I also made a short video of the plane flying in snow.

Yes 100%. The weight is without battery. Sorry i cheated
![]() Battery weight is about 80g, so flying weight is about 460g ![]() I took all the RC components as far as possible to the front side of the plane. Used leight weight linking rods. The Motor weight is about 45g My goal was to use my 3-S 900mAh Lipos that are left from another plane i had years ago. The same Lipo´s i use in my "SeaPron", who is simmilar in weight and dimension to the Polaris. |

![]() Is that windshield from scratch? Or did you cut it out of a bottle or something else? The curves look too complex to be scratch, but the shape doesn't remind me of anything it could have been made from. |

That windshield is packing of a "scented plugin" called "Airwick" in Germany.
Bought one and in the moment i wanted to throw it to trashcan i got that intension, this would be a wonderful windshield for the "Polar-Cat" http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51mq0mjCoUL.jpg Walking through stores an look here and there and i sometimes find things to misuse ![]() So i found a nice looking canopy for my Blade mQX

Here is some footage of the spontaneous floatfly that I happend to attend recently. It was at the Carr Mill Lake in the UK. Starring mainly Wet Wings MVC Carrmilaris seaplanes. You should have seen the guy who's building a Sunderland. He was really working the Tx.![]() Thanks D, R & C for sharing your time.
