Question
Esky lama v4 with Walkera rx-2411 2.4G receiver - possible ?

Hi guys,

Just wondering is it possible to use the Walkera 2.4g receiver rx-2411 on the Esky lama v4? Or any other walkera 2.4g receiver?

I have the Walkera wk-2401 2.4g TX (for my walkera 5G6) and thinking if i can use this tx for my esky lama v4 that will be great. No need to use 2 TX.

Thanks.

The short answer is "probably"

It would take a bit of tuning but I reckon you could use that Rx (for those that don't want to dig it up the Rx is from from a Walkera 5G4Q3 and probably the 2.4G 5#4 - but I can't find spares for that one to confirm)...

Note that the swash arrangement is similar between the Lama and 5#4 and 5G4Q3 BUT the Lama's swash controls are the reverse of the Walkeras... put simply the elevator servo on the Lama pushes up to got forward where the Walkeras pull down... the end result is the same movement of the swash but the servos moved in the opposite direction Hence the big catch and the reason for the "probably" is the possibility that you would need to reset the servo reverser switches onthe TX each time you switch from the Lama to the 5g6... might not be a big deal but it would bug me.

The 5#10's receiver (RX2410) is probably the prime candiate for this mod since the control throws are the same as the Lama (there is a difference in the swashes because the 5#10 is a 120degree arrangement where the Lama is 90degrees) but the big catch here is that it a 3.7 volt bird that uses smaller motors than the Lama. So the Rx might not be able to handle the extra voltage and the Lama's awesome grunt (that's Aussie for Power).

The only way I know for sure that will tell you if it works is to buy one and see if you blow it up... No really a sophisticated method but there is comedy value in making $40 purchase, waiting up to 2 weeks for it to arrive from another country (possibly paying duty on it when it arrive) and then setting on fire the first time you use it...

Yeah.. u are right the 3.7v is a problem. I didn't notice that point.

Maybe the RX-2413 (receiver from Walkera 53Q) will be better since it is 7.4V.
Might give it a try if i can find the receiver online..

I dug up the info I got from ehirobo.com and they have the parts that you need...

I'm not associated with them but I have purchased parts from them a few times with good results. The postage was reasonable, the items were well packed and received reasonably fast (7-10 days from Hong Kong to Australia).

I found rx-2411 but not sure if it's the same specs & voltage as rx-2413 or not.

I see what you mean... the website shows the RX for the 5G4Q3 as being the RX-2408 but the spare part they offer is a RX-4211... Maybe stay clear of this one all together because it's getting too fiddly

...Better yet. This one might be your sweet spot - no photos, unfortunately

It should be the RX-2405 which is the 2.4G reciver for a Walkera 53 (the big Lama type heli) the control setup is the same as an e-sky Lama AND it's designed for 7.4V... and not killer expensive.

Still I'd e-mail them first to confirm. I don't like the lack of a photo or consistent part numbering...
