how do I get it to "print" a full size plan to pdf on one sheet? It want's to cut my plans into multiple sheets and if I try to use a custom page size I'm being limited to 11" I just want to save my plan to a pdf in one sheet so I can split it up later.

Are you talking about Adobe Acrobat? Or a virtual pdf printer? That probably isn't SketchUp causing your problem.

If Acrobat, it is probably responding to the printer you've selected by limiting the page size to its capabilities.

Are you printing to a pdf printer (virtual printer) or a "real" printer? Sounds like you want to do the former, but haven't selected it, and are instead preparing to print through Acrobat to the latter.

If you could clarify, it would be easier to answer.

I don't have any problems that way. Are you sure you selected CutePdf printer in the printer dropdown list at the top of the SketchUp print dialog?

If so, can you click "Properties" at the top of the dialog, then "Advanced" in the layout tab, then "Paper Size" under "Paper Layout" then select "Postscript Custom Page Size" from the dropdown, and set whatever size you want?

that's exactly what I'm doing but when I go back into "Postscript Custom Page Size" my width is always reset back to 11".

go to "Postscript Custom Page Size" put in 50w 60h
pdf "prints" off all messed up (too narrow)
go back to "Postscript Custom Page Size" it shows 11w60h


It's really strange. I should probably just wipe the hard drive and put in a fresh install. It needs it anyway.

Unfortunately I'm not usually on Win 7, so can't test without closing my OS (Linux).

I'm wondering if free CutePDF is limited in page size vs their paid "Pro" version.

You might want to try PDFCreator which is truly free:

I use the free version of cutepdf all the time, and can print to any size, so it's. Probably not the program. I've used it on my xp and win7 machines.

Hmm. Well then next thing is to compare versions of software. SketchUp and Cutepdf. Make sure those that have it where it works have the same software version as those that can't get it to work. Sometimes a bug is corrected (or introduced) in a later version.

However I still do near all of my printing direcly from sketchup, and use cute pdf to make the pdfs for sharing and posting..

these have been used on xp vista and windws7
Mostly I dont print a plan at full size, so my plans are traced using sketchup then sizes are added so I can draw it myself directly to the foam I build with... traced over into sketchup I can now scale the model to whatever size I want...
I do print out small sections for the shape of fins rudders ribs etc when building.. as that makes life easier..

tried it on a different computer and it worked. something's just messed up on my desktop.

Can I ask someone to resize and slice the model in the .zip for me.

I want it to be 1.4m wingspan and sliced from front to back and from wingtip to wing tip.

Those are not 'true' URLs. See the '....'? Those are chars left out for display purposes. You did a copy/paste of those strings and got the dots. Instead use right-click --> copy link location.
