+1.

A TX should be designed with function over style. All the flashy, sexy, look at me crap is silly and likely comes courtesy of the marketing department having more influence than the engineers. Chrome flavored plastic is an insult to real metal. Even if it was metal I would never want polished metal on my TX to do nothing but attract finger prints and reflect the sun into my eyes while I'm trying to fly. There's a reason the "glare sheild" on a full scale aircraft is finished in mat black.

Rant off.

Concur. Then their would be no fingerprints to worry about on the case, plus no glare. Not that thats an issue, but a good marketing dept. could sell it as a feature!

I've often wondered if there were some kind of dye or paint that I could use on my 9503 to make it a stealth radio - something that wouldn't chip or flake, or really have any thickness at all.

I gotta disagree with you there chief. I want function AND style. Especially in a Tx. You've got what - a dozen or more aircraft? Know what you use to fly every one of them? I want to love and be one with my Tx. In my case, I'd really like to have the features of a DX18, but it doesn't grab me as much as my 9503. This is one area where I let emotion enter into the equation.

Does it need a successor? What's wrong with the A9? I'll admit it looks a little old fashioned, but I'd call that "classic".

Today's update to RealFlight includes the HeliMax 1SQ. Is this what this thing is really like? I need 75 feet of altitude to complete a flip!

I'll have to test it out. But it should not take 75 feet to flip the 1SQ more like .75 foot.

Are you sure you didn't have the TX set to "grandpa walker" mode?
