rffs 100

the total weight of the 32" apogee is aprox. 2.27 oz.
this is with "conventional" gear
i'm working on a 27" hlg
it is a scaled apogee using my rffs-100 and bsd actuators
my goal is a total of 55g
ive been toying with this idea for months
now it starts

Mine is a frankenstein: Fuse and composite tail boom froma Sky Zap, Wing from a fighterbird, either v-tail from same, or conventional tail from built-up balsa, HS-22 servos. Waiting on the servos. Do you think if I glass both sides of the foam fighterbird wing, it would stand up to a discus launch?;-)

I have built several sub 25 inch free flight HLG converted to r/c.They are cheap, fast and easy to build, and there are alot of free plans around. The only problem is keeping the wing loading down low enough. I have been using the falcon servos ,the GWS( heavy 3.8grams) R4P JST( still waiting for Falcons new 1.8 gram RX ) and small single cell lipolys. If you enlarge them slightly you can come close to the originals wing loading. If you go too large you get out of the structural range of the original materials.

There are alot of people building smaller gliders with actuators and really small RX's, like the JMP ,RFFS-100.

Well that would be what a new thread would be for!

Answering a question that was asked 6years ago really doesn't make any sense..

Technology has moved forward rather a lot since the question was asked, while a small HLG was hard to find back then due to weight issues that is no longer the case.

Heres a few

ParkZone just released their new 6 channel RX and external micro servos, so a full house 24" span version will be in the works when I get back home from vacation. Even the 2ch version are fun to chuck around in the back yard or parking lot.
