I understand fully what you are saying.and most say it's better with the 14x7
All I meant is that it's pretty good with the 13x6.5 aswell,I had no problems with anything post stall.got a 13x6 on now and still very affective

But was that with the thrust 40 motor? It's meaningless to compare performance with different props is the motors are different also.

I'm sure this has been posted to death but I kept going back further and further and not finding it. I went to install batteries in my new AMR to find they seem too tall (turnigy 2200 40c)

what are people running that fits nice (other than PA batteries)

Most if not all 3s 2200 batteries should fit. I'm running 30c Gens Ace and 35c Hyperion and they have adequate clearance. The problem tends to come (with any battery) if you put velcro on the battery and tray as the battery wont slide in.

The solution is not to use velcro (use foam rubber instead) or to modify/remove the cross brace.

Mount the ESC as far back as you can and plug in from the back side of the tray. You can get kitchen drawer non slip honey comb mat at any department store for less than $5 and it should last you for years. Then just velcro strap the battery down. I'm using GensAce 3s2200 60C's and they fit fine. In the video I used 30c's. I have Turnigy, Gens, EpBuddy, Nanos, and they all fit just fine.
AMR Battery (1 min 11 sec)

Yep, many ways to skin the cat.. I made the brace removable but the foam rubber is probably easier.

Kuczy,
Question.... With the ESC way back like that is it still easy to balance (if you use wood prop and carbon spinner and stock motor)? I'm pretty sure that I might struggle to get the CG right if I put the ESC back in the fuselage like you have it.

yes I see now I'm just spoiled by having lots of room to work with, I did manage to get my battery in through the back like that. Thanks for the help

T40X is The prop for the t-40 in ADX and AMR....1/2" longer dia than 14x7. Unknown pitch but it looks like abt 5.5 or 6. Try one then you'll have a passel of 14x7's left over like I do.

No problems balancing it. I'm using a VOX 14x7 and CF spinner as well. My ESC sits under the battery tray zip tied to the 2 carbon tubes and I'm using an ICE50. It flies just fine and the battery just slips in and out.
