Well, I doubt that I would ever be making a plane to be Texaco event compatible, but thank you for that explanation.
I am seriously thinking of putting a power pod on an old "Gentle Lady" sailplane that I have, and using an engine like that to get the plane up to a good altitude. Then when the engine quits, I should be able to glide it for some time, especially if I can find some nice thermals.
Using a calibrated syringe to fuel it, I should be able to figure out how long the engine will run, and thus, how high I should be able to get the glider before the engine times out.
Well, that is an idea, anyway.
