Progress as promised!

I got back from my R&R leave the other day and, well, nothing had been done on the building for the 24 days I was gone! Soooooo.... after taking a morning "off" to get back into the time change, I rounded up some Joe's and got to work.

We added some of the "molding" to the sides, built a door and door frame, and put in the windows two days ago. Yesterday, we did squat! Nothing at all. Then today, well, its roof time. So, we got quite a bit done with 3 of us, and occasionally a 4th would jump in and help.

Dennis and I are the main designers/engineers/builders/ everything else. But, we have a few, like our 1SG and one of the E-7s from the Battalion staff, who are always willing to lend a hand where ever its needed.

Anyway, more to follow in a few days so you can all see our progress.

Laine.

LOL, nope, no nail guns. Just good old elbow grease and 16 penny nails gets it done every time. We have Becks N/A if that counts for beer. Nasty stuff too.

I spent my "day off" today working from about 0945 this morning till 1800 tonight working on the building. Got the roof done today and some more trim along the siding. Soon, we'll be ready for paint and interior work. The electrical should be done this week too.

I hope to have it "usable" within a week from now.

Yeah, my elbow hurts too Patrick! I spend 2 to 10 hours a day working on this building. Every day (that I can anyway). LOTS to do when you are short on help.

As for big, well, it is biggish. 26 feet by 16 feet. The walls are 8 feet tall on both floors, the roof is 5 feet from the top of the 2nd floor. So, its 21 feet tall, plus the hieght of the "legs" it stand on. So, closer to 22 feet.

All I know is that it scares the crap out of me to stand on top of it! Yes... Im a pilot and I am scared of hieghts, well, acctually Im scared of falling, well, acctually, Im scared of hitting the ground after falling from hieghts!!! IT HURTS!!!
