I have yet to find a really good way to attach a home made spinner... The way I did mine, while it works, is not optimal. Anyway, all you do is put some kind of backplate behind the prop, I ended up using the same PET-G plastic I make my canopies out of. When I made my 109, I used a peanut butter jar lid (pre-canopy era). Then I just hot glue the spinner onto the backplate. On the 109F it has a very large surface area to glue to so it will hold on pretty well in flight... The trick is to get it to stay on while landing. So it might be a good idea to have some hot glue available in the field if the look is important on future flights... I should also say that I ALWAYS had great difficulty landing my 109. Seems it would just stall suddenly, always subject to tip stalls, and when it didn't tip, it was nose first too late. Upon redesign, I will undoubtedly add flaps and lots of wash out to help this out, as I would recommend you guys do. Good Luck I can't wait to see some progress!!

109s are notorious for tipstalls. Just add 2 or 3 degrees of washout and they become little pussycats. My 42" ws E Model lost the washout when I glassed it due to shrinkage. It was a bear! Finally the LVC hit it when landing one time and when that prop stopped she turned turtle in a heartbeat. From about 12' up! After the fuse repair, I built a new wing with 3 degrees washout. It flies like a champ now and will NOT tipstall. has a couple of hundred flights on her too.
I made one large spinner from foam. Only hollowed out where the prop nut went. Then used 3 sets of magnets, backplate to foam spinner, to attach it. Worked real well. Easy to balance and easy on/off at the field. But I detest making spinners and will out source it to Jerry who does a fabulous job and does it right!

Thanks, that should be sufficient for a small park flyer. I'll do that with my 190 if I don't buy the parkzone spinner.
