Hi thomas, I got my TLRS working and binding on the bench no problems. Thank You.
What I have done is used an old Futaba 9z. I removed the 35Mhz module. Next I opted to unsolder the Din plug socket from the 9Z circuit board and wired the TLRS directly to the circuit board at this point..
I have removed the 9Z battery and replaced this with a 3S 2250 Lipo to power the Tx via the standard battery box. This all appears to be working correctly prior to proper range checking. Does this all seem OK so far.
My next problem is with the wiring of the OSD (EzOsd) and Camera etc. How best can I provide a stable 5V supply to both my camera and VTR via a 4S Lipo. The TLRS RX/2 Elevon servos will be powered via the Esc's BEC.
Ideally I would like to run everything from the 4S Lipo. Vtx is a Lawmate 2.4 500mw and camera is a KX-201 5V
I was wondering If I could fit a Recom R-78B5.0-1.5 http://uk.rs-online.com/web/search/s...&cm_vc=prev_uk
Also would it be advisable to use a shielded cable to the VTX on the wing tip? and also add some LC filters such as these http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...&postcount=339
Excuse my total ignorance of everything electronic but if so where exactly is it advisable to use the LC filters.

I dont know if the Recom conveter will work,
you must read its datasheet carefully, and add all the external capacitors and filters
so you are sure it is clean enought for your needs.
Yes, put the VTX on the wing tip, far away from sensitive stuff,
use shielded wire for the video signal, and local 1000uF cap on the VTX supply
that did the trick with my own install.
well about the toroid filter you linked to, be very carefull about it,
if done wrong you only make things worse, you see the VTX also need a video signal,
so make sure its video coax go inside the toroid too, ideally hold the power and coax
together, and then wind tru the coil, put the coil 1 wavelength from the VTX
and the cap as close to the VTX as possible.

NEWS: the TX PRO versions have been on delay for a little while,
I hear a new shipment of the TX PRO cases are on their way to me,
this is good news for orders with this type of case.

Hi Everyone I have sifted through most of this thread and have decided to take the FPV plunge. I would like some advice on what I can do. I have asked Thomass but he directed me to ask my question here so hopefully you guy's can help me out.
Here is what I asked Thomass-
I have a futaba 14 MZ which as you would know has a smaller than normal module. I would like to use your UHF system and also use head tracking through the same trainer port.
As far as I know the trainer plug on futaba radio's has a PPM in and separate PPM out pin ? is this true ?If so can I do the following ?
Open the plug in the UHF lead take the power leads off and run external power to the UHF 11.1 volt Lipo but leave the PPM 'OUT' wire in the plug,
Open the Head tracking plug and find the PPM 'IN' lead and place it into the plug of the UHF (Which will be an un used slot) and then run the power to the same external 11.1 volt battery I am using for the UHF ?
Sorry for the un technical question but it seems to be the only way I can get this to all work together...
On top of this Does anyone know if I can legal use this in australia ? I think I might be able to on low power 500mw but don't think 1 & 2 W will be legal.
I intend to put this into a 40 sized trainer with 900Mhz 500-800 mW Video.

Only place is the trainer port and yes it can input and output signal at the same time.
I sell a special adapter in my shop: You plug it to the trainer port and it have ports for the LRS a 3S lipo and a tracker device. When you switch the trainer on in the 14MZ's menu the device automatically switch on and provide power to the LRS and tracker.
I also have a trick to use it in 12ch mode, search for: "12Z" in this thread and look for my post.

nope, so just dont use those levels.

good, I always suggest to put the VTX in one wing end,
this way the RF noise emitter is far away from receivers and other sensitive parts.
also keep the GPS and RC RX away from the cam, and OSD and similar digital parts

Enjoying the thread. Great sense of individualism back there with the 1/2watt settings and booster discussion.
I have an 9Cap with TLRS. Will this setup be ok if I use a RHINO 2620 Li-po Transmitter pack?
the 9cap circuitry will run off my lipo, rf module none, TLRS uhf!
Curious if the 9cap will be fine. For years..

ok so tests with JRx12 over! Only 8 ch out, the thing is that when i plug my pan and tilt to different ch. lets say 9 or 10, they seam to work together with ch 5 and 6... any idea why? i can not control them separate, but they have shared signal wired?
