Zippy Lipo's.....any good.

Hi, I've been hunting around for a good cheaper alternative to my flightpower 25C packs. I've found these: http://www.rc-components.co.uk/index...d&productId=74 They say 25C, but I'll a little unsure at those prices, anyone dealt with these lipo's? I beleive they are zippy lipo's.

Thanks

But just for a quick point of refernce, I'd just like to know if they are worth trying the Zippy H packs.

Stuart, I agree with the advice to do a search and some reading, plenty of personal experience threads here on RCG about Zippy and other HobbyCity lipos. Then make up your own mind based on those experiences.

Just don't do the same mistake as I did, and make sure they'll fit first! Also, take their dimensions with a grain of salt and add about 7-5mm to length, 1mm to width, and 2-4mm to height. Especially to the side with the wires coming out.

I have used zippy-r's with good success in 30-40amp applications (2200mah) now for about 20 cycles. Still no loss in performancebut time will tell.

Stuart,

I have used Zippy lipos with success, personally I think the HXT G1 batteries are junk and wouldn't touch them.

Zippy-K = Loong Max which are great packs.

I have some Zippy packs purchased recently that are unused, I intend running them on the eagle tree and collating the data as soon as the plane is ready to fly.

I have one zippy pack that dropped a cell, not investigated why yet, but since they were so cheap I never really looked after them, and another that died a nasty death as a result of my aerial mining attempts.

Zippy K, Loong Max & Zippy-R are definately thumbs up from me.

No far from it.

The HXT G2 batteries are supposed to be good, but the first were garbage.

I have 2 of the hobbycity branded 2200mah 3s and so far getting good performance but haven't logged anything yet. Only yardstick so far is equal flight times and visual performance; hardly scientific.

I'll be flying on saturday and sunday so I'll pop in the logger and see what I can record.

I have 2 of these http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=6306 never flown that I intend to log start till death in my new sniper EP.

Whats the code one uses to shorten a HTML URL to click here or similar text?

I've recently purchased some A123 packs which will get the guernsey when they do die.

So far I've got about 12 months on a pack of 1800mah Zippy-K's every weekend since september last year, save a handful, and 1 of 3 are still going strong.

These are in a 2200kv powered ep glider swinging a 6x4 APC flown mostly at wide open throttle.

One died as a result of my aerial mining attemps, totally related to dumb thumbs and nothing to do with the pack. Another cell droppped on one of the packs, but in fairness I was not trying to save it; could have been regularly over discharged/charged etc. I didn't have any test equipment. I would purchase them again based on the results of the other two alone.

I'll pop the logger on and post the results for some scrutiny.

Ok yes that info would be great. So the zippy H are the same as the zippy HXT G2?

That I couldn't be sure of. HXT or hextronic is Hobby City's own brand, (their paypal account kinda gives that away). The first of their cells, (let's face it they more than likely just have them made), are garbage; the G2's (or second generation) are supposed to be quite good but I've not tried one, and probably won't.

I've had good results with the Zippy packs so far; but the "data" is far from scientific.
