Last Monday I have done the maiden flight with my Sparrow Hawk. The CG was at 105mm. What can I say?
The Sparrow Hawk flies beautifully without any problems. I have done other 5 flights each with 10 minutes, so the racer has nearly one hour of flight time in his flightbook -have I written this correctly? My English is not very good!

I want to say thank You to David and all the others for the informations obout this plane.
Regards from Germany.
Rolf

Hi Peter, I would also come to "The Grand Southern Cross Model Aero Rally" but it's a little too far away
At the moment I'm very angry about our weather, always rain and cold and the weather forecast for next weeks says .......brrrrrrr.....snow. I wasn't born for this kind of weather
When my Sparrow Hawk will fly again, I take some pictures and a video and than I post theese here.
Bye for now!
Rolf

Rolf,
We have a problem with the weather at the other extreme! The weather at the Rally was so unbearable hot and unpleasant that I only stayed one day and at 2pm on the Saturday I and I'm certain many others would have welcomed snow with open arms!

Consequently my flying was limited due to the weather, the unusual layout of the allocated electric field and the need to watch the spectacle of some of the other entrants so the Sparrowhawk ended up staying safely on the ground.

However the rally certainly did have some highlights for me as I did get to finally meet Ian "Son of Paleface" White (who had travelled 1500km to attend), saw the runnerup in the 3D Freestyle World Champion strut his stuff and did quite well in the foamie flyoff at the end of the day so I went home happy.

Nevermine, I'm sure I can find time to fly the Sparrowhawk this weekend as there is a public holiday on either side!

Regards
Peter

It wuz great to finally meet you Pete , the heat AND humidity knocked me over , I went down to the pub and sunk a couple of large VB's to recover
It was a long way to go for an event that was run by an egotistical idiot
I will only go to events with a good track record in future
Pity you didnt find me earlier , heres where my van wuz parked

Cheers
Ian

Whilst not much has happen with this thread or my Sparrowhawk in recent times, I came across this thread yesterday that discusses a 63 inch version: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1285097

However this did inspire me to dig mine out today for a coupla flights. I must admit I had forgotten how nice the 'hawk is to fly as I have developed an obsession for overpowered and extremely noisy Strykers in recent times!

Regards
Peter

PS I was extremely pleased to meet you Ian! It was a pity the weather was so hostile!

LOL! Ian, I've just been helping a new club member work out a e conversion for that very same model!

They are very pretty, I'm a bit tempted to get one myself.

Cheers
Peter

PS: Don't worry about the car, I don't own it, just rent it....
