CC BEC Output Voltage

Is there anyway to coerce an extra 2 tenths of a volt out of the CC BEC? I'm trying to use a CC BEC in a non-RC related installation. I need less than 400ma of current at 9.2 volts but the max output available is only 9 volts. Thank you,

Scott

What could you possibly need .2v extra for ?

Have you checked the CC Bec actual output voltage ?
Wouldn't be surprised if it actually is 8.8v or 8.9v !

I checked. It's 8.98 volts. And yes, believe it or not the bump up to 9.2 volts is important!

why not use a line driver? ... feed the signal into a driver i mean if you only need 400mah you could easily get the extra voltage you need at no loss to anything "seeing as you only need 4W total power and the CC BEC is capable of 90W"

For your application just get an adjustable voltage (LM317 or equivalent) and make your own circuit. Radio Shack and other electronic stores has them and they are very inexpensive.

Yup - $2.29 for the regulator, the data sheet from National has a dozen or more schematics.

I've built a number of things with both a LM317 and a LM350 as part of the regulation circuit. I was just hoping for a plug and play setup with something i already have. The CC BEC missed the needed voltage by so little...

You can call CC on Monday and see is they will make a special software version for you with higher voltage options. Several have been asking about a 12v option so they might add that to the next software update. If they are going to include higher voltage options in the future be sure and let us know.

The problem may be that the next software update might not be scheduled for some time. They will probably want to charge you for a custom software version. If you need it any time soon you will probably have to make your own regulator. To make a LM317 regulator would only take half an hour to make and test if you have the parts.

How about this one? Adjustable output up to 13V.
