Thanks for the input on the landing gear. I wonder if the less expensive HET retracts are also good?

Another thing that I am wondering is if it is worth it, or even needed to do a bolt-on wing mod? It seems like Tim recommends epoxy, and he has designed the Panther to allow access to everything through the canopy.

I have a Panther and a Cougar, I converted both to servoless retracts for $7 per retract:

Main & Nose (I adapted or nose gear too)

I bend my own struts to fit the model. If you spend more on E-flights your wasting your money.

The only other retracts I tried were the FlyFly ones. Useless in my opinion, but that was over a year ago so they may have improved.

When I converted my Panther there were few to choose from, HK did not offer any at the time.

I have some Eflites on a larger model, and they are perfect. But to each his own. we know the RClanders work on the Panther, but no doubt there are others...

the 7 dollar hk retracts ARE EXACTLY THE SAME RCLANDER E-RETACTS + THE STRUTS...

well here is mine

this has retracts but the grass was longish and bumpy, plus it hand lauches so easy anyway.
has a lander 3575kv fan in it with turnigy 4s1p (20c) pack up front

btw check out dsr-a and dsr-b retracts from hobbyking.

The longer of the two are the ones for the panther and the shorter ones are for the cougar

I got a set for the hawker hunter off HK,
but they not a simple replacement, quite a bit of bodging to do to install them
the nose gear is the worst as the originals sit on metal posts and these are too long for the e-tracts

those are not for the hawker. And as i said on a previous post... You need to spread the wooden blocks a bit to fit the e-tracts

I know they not for the Panther , thats why i mentioned i got a set of e-tracts from HK for the Hunter.
The point was i know about them and have a set for my hunter. they a lot of work for the hunter.

The dsr-A are for the hunter and the dsr-B for the panther as they have longer oleo's
The dsr-C are for the f-16 and have the angled axles

Ok Guys, I know this has been covered before but I am looking for a quick answer - I have a HET Fan that a friend gave me. Does the HET Fan do well on 4 cells with a 3200 KV

Same or Better than the Wemo Fan on same 3200

the het fan is better on higher kv..
the wemo is slightly and sometimes not noticeably better..
on high rpm Ifind the het better because it draws less amps.
