lol I hit so many times the LVC on my edfs .. still no damage from that.. and ofcourse I was hitting it on experimental flights :P

especially on my F-22 I did it several times after changing the power system to something SLIIIGHTLY more powerfull went from 47amps draw and 580watts to 140 amp draw and 2300 watts
with that same nano tech at 2200mah I was hitting LVC in less than 2 minutes :S

CJ, look at my vid I just posted. U will see that my AOA has a bit of nose up in it, so when I start rolling the plane is about level with a slight nose up. Mine takes off in alot shorter distance than i showed in that vid, its just that was the maiden and i wanted alot of airspeed when it left the ground. Mine is a bit heavy, do to it had been crashed previous to my getting it. Plus im using HS82 servos for retracts and steering. I also put basswood in to mount my metal suspension retracts onto. Plus it has lights and a servo reverser and other reinforcements..all that adds up fast...hope u get urs airborne soon man, its a great plane....

Pav, bet it was fast though ....now back to working on my A-10 and new twin 70mm F-14...

no it wasn't as fast as it should.. that edf unit and motor and 5cell on any other plane it should reach 125mph..
the lx models F-22 single EDF is just too draggy.. BUT it sure has one of the best sounds an EDF has to offer

Finally completed building mine. Feels heavy, hope the 4375kv 3S EDF is up to it. Planning to use 2x2200mah 3S 25C in parallel mode. Retracts are a concern. Does not seem to be strong enough to survive the maiden. Collapses even when I push the jet along the floor. Servo buzzing both ends. Reducing the travel causes the retract to not fully lock. Have twisted the angle of the retract to toe-out, causing it to stretch outwards when rolling. Hope it helps slow down the landing roll too.

what servos do you use for the retracts??? I 'm afraid I got the stock plastic ones too but I'm planning on using metal gear for 3 retracts and nose wheel

fortunately I'm gonna use the 4s Setup on mine and some of the guys here already tried that. I also want to try to push it to 5S.

Burnt the 1st unit while testing. Hopefully this 2nd unit works.

usually the reviews for these products are done after very little testing.. I wouldn't recommend buying anything below 5 star rating..

Foo, if you have set the retracts to toe then ur just asking for trouble....ur adding undesirable stress !!! and if there not staying locked up, locked down then go back and work on them again. It takes time and patience to get mechanical retracts set up correctly.........i have one hs81mg working both my main rcl metal suspension retracts and have had no probs at all...just takes some end point adjusting and patience...

Pav, if I remeber correctly, RCLanders already stated that the 3575kv 4s motor will not holdup to 5s use...instead use a higher c rating lipo...i compared a 4s 4000mah 25c to a 4s 4000mah 45c the difference in thrust is amazing...i would guess another 15mph or more in top speed...happy flyn... DJ

In addition to getting your AOA slightly elevated as suggested, let us know
what the kv of your motor is and what you have set the ESC timing to
(low, med or high). My PC Panther has the 2399kv motor in the Lander all
metal fan unit, weighs @ 4lbs., has the proper AOA with the Lander
electric retract system and I set my ESC timing to High as suggested
by Lander. With this setup, I can ROG in just about 30 yards or so, with
no problems at all. Each of the Lander EDF units has a recommended
timing setting in order to get the most efficient power. Hope this helps.
