Busted the nose off mine on Saturday due to pulling up too soon on takeoff. Tip stall and nose in. Clean break though and will be easy to repair. My LG is still the original plastic, and I have the metals on hand, so I will also swap those out before the next flight.

Got it as a belly lander - but have a real nice set of MAP air retracts here that may get retrofitted.

Has anyone had success getting the landing gear doors to work with the newest all-metal suspension landing gear?

I had heard that the new retracts with suspension had fit issues with the gear wells and the gear doors. I was hoping someone had gotten them all worked out.

Right now I have the suspension out of the hunter and I tried to fit them into the F9 panther and they are a lot bigger. So the whole area would have to be hoged out and two bigger wood mounts made to fit them it the Panther for sure. No way are the just going to slide right in. On the other hand I got the stock one's to work a lot better. There was no flat spots on the rod on the gear so the just kept spinning around and that was causing the gear to fail.

Mine came with the original thin ply mounting strips, so I will need to replace them with hardwood sticks no matter which gear I end up using.

I'm waiting on the mailman for both the metal bodied and the suspended gear. I'll have to see how much hogging out is required in relation to where my gear doors mount. If that poses a problem, I'll use the metal bodied un-sprung set.

Is there warranty on the 4s fan/motor? I bought the RC Lander EPS Panther with the 4s power unit in February and just finished it in August. 1st flight was once around the field and landed because it was tail-heavy. The next flight was after rebalancing and was doing very well but as I decided to land with adequate power reserve, the plane began making a loud raspy sound and power quit. Landed OK.
I thought the 60A ESC failed and ordered a Turnigy 80A ESC with ubec. When I replaced the "bad" unit, I found that the new one got very hot and only ran 5 seconds before the motor quit and hot electrical stink blew out the tailpipe. The new ESC is outside the body and not the source of the smell. This fan/motor was/is a vibration free powerhouse for it's short life.
I welcome comments and suggestions.

Best thing is to contact your supplier and explain. I'm sure its possible to see if the motor/fan has been abused or not and for them to repair/replace under warranty. It is possible they have had a bad batch and will simply replace it without question, but they may not admit to that.
Keep calm and explain the situation and you might be suprised by the results. If your supplier will not help contact the manufacturer direct.
Good luck and let us know how you go.
