What do think about some light foam fittted into the center section of the chassis to make the fuse fit snugly. It would stop the fuse rattle and absorb the vibes as long as it didnt interfere with the linkages. Maybe somehting fabricated from copper pipe insulation or even the foam used in computer cases. I have plenty in a roll I purchased to make ally cases for all my helis.
I had thought of using foam but I don't want to interfere with air flow; those motors and electronics seem to heat up rather quickly. If you look closely, you will see a little gromit mounting nub behind the white star in the middle of the fuselage, on each side. It looks like they decided to cut some costs and omit something. I may play around with that a little.

Hmmmm. I never noticed it before. Ill have some time this weekend to experiment a little and see what I can think of as well.
The one comment my friend made was how quiet this heli is considering its running 4 big motors. It makes much less noise than my CX2 does which was very surprising to me.

Barely its own

No seriously, I have no idea what kind of payload it could really lift. This is already a VERY heavy heli for a coax and the motors and electronics get really hot after only a 5 minute flight or so. I think you would be pushing the heli to the point of failure if you attempted to make the heli carry any more weight than it already is for any significant amount of time. The ESC would most likely burn out from the increased amp draw.I have already set one on fire myself for other reasons. It already takes almost 3/4 throttle just to fly it as is.

I use rubber grommets from the CX2 body mounting kit from LHS and CF rod.
I've considered using Trex body mounts and grommets, but there's nothing to screw them into.

Here's my body mounts and linkage adjustments. Also an image for size comparison for those of you who don't have one. That's my Lama V4, W38 and GL450.

Very nice and thanks for the info. Ill be doing the canopy mods this weekend myself. I had already moved my links in on the swash connector side but havent changed them on the servo wheel yet. I thought I had plenty of throw (too much actually) until I got it high enough outside to learn otherwise Full stick deflection barely made it move for me.
I also cant help but think that the long flimsy flexible plastic rods used to move the swash arrent helping much either. Seems a solid threaded rod or a little thicker CF rod would have more authority.

I was thinking of something like an empty pop or beer can.

Grrrrr.. .. crashed my W38 today. Too much control response is not a good thing with a coax that has lots of blades. I had the damn thing leaning at about a 45 degree angle sideways when I got blade strikes in the rear rotor. Two blades sheared in half on contact and one more cut badly. I could not control it, so I had to drop it on the side of a hill. Other than the blades, no damage I can't fix. I didn't think there was that much wind!

Sorry to hear that Barl14. When I crashed mine there was maybe a 5-6 MPH breeze and it was taking it from me all over the place. I dont have enough swash throw in mine yet to smack the blades and it sounds like I should just leave it that way and only fly on perfectly calm days.

It was my own fault. I was rocking the heli all over the place, sideways into wind; really seeing how hard I could push it. I think I grazed the hill and damaged the blades previously, too. Generally, you have to fly like a fool to get blade strikes. I proved it.

I cut back on extents a little and added some electrical tape to the ends of the bottom blades. That trick works on a regular coax heli, but I haven't had a chance to try it yet on this one.

^^^^

I haven't got anything to measure with other than an old metric ruler and bad eyesight. But, it looks to me like about 20mm. It's whatever size fits the tubing or grommets you plan on using to hold it.
