Question
E-flite Mini Ultra Stick PnP Question about ESC and Engine Temps

Hey all, I just finshed putting together everything for my new MUS. I am quite new to RC and this is my frist brushless. I ran the plane on full thottle using a S3 2100mah Lipo(confirmed balanced) and i noticed the speed control(22A) even after only 20sec of full thottle was very hot, the engine itself was even hotter, infact if i would have held my fingers on the engine it would have burnt me. Is this normal?

Jonathan

Full throttle on the ground with no airflow? Yeah, stuff is going to get toasty. Give it a flight and immediately check it.

Mine gets pretty toasty but I think that's because the battery blocks a lot of the airflow through the fuse.

was your engine hot or was it your motor? never run full throttle static tests from more than about 10 seconds.

Thank you all for the replies, it was simply me running the motor too hard on the ground. I am sure that i will learn many more lessons in whats proper procedure as time goes by.

Thanks again,

Jonathan
