Thats a nice smaller version.
I chose to pre-order the Hobbly-lobby one because it might be big enough to mod in TWO alfa 60/25 fans or two XF 56mm fans. In either case, the motors would the LSJS(little screamers jetscreamer) and still run it on 4s.
If not, then I already have the larger jetscreamer motor rated at 1400 watts that will go into the 70mm fan already installed.

I like the size of the HL F-4. Video looks good too, if that was really stock the plane seems to fly pretty well on stock setup. I will probably pick one up, I've been waiting for a good sized F-4! The 70mm fan sure makes things nice if she calls for any upgrades.

So I email them to ask the price of the plane plus shipping and if they accept Paypal. They respond and tell me the cost is 123.00 plus 45.00 shipping for a total of 168.00 and yes they do accept Paypal.

So, I'm thinking not too bad. I email them back telling them I'll take one for 168.00 total. They send me a Paypal payment request for 168.00. Then less than 5 minutes later they send me an updated Paypal request for 175.00 stating the extra 7.00 is for using Paypal as a form of payment. I email them back to tell them to please cancel the order.

End of story....screw 'em.

Hi

Just a quick note to Hyperdyne:

All of the videos on the Hobby Lobby website are stock airplanes unless we clearly state otherwise (very rare cases).

We want to represent the models exactly as they are offered in our catalog and web

Hope anyone that had seen the post earlier about the 1400 watt jetscreamer motor being on sale last week got one, cuz it looks like the pricing was a mistake and hobby-lobby now shows the 1400 watt jetscreamer "ON SALE" for $89 instead of the $59 I got it for last week. They've revamped the pricing structure(as far as the bargain sale was concerned). Last week the bargain hangar also had the original LSJS for $49, now its listed at $59 "ON SALE".

I got both for $110. Now, it would be $150 for both

I just want to add to this from Mike,

Any plane I fly at an event for demo or even just to fly in the event, is off the shelf stuff from HL. I will take planes like the Exec Jet and put LS motors in for upgrade, BUT any LS motor I fly in an event is totally stock and a true representation of what you will get when purchased from HL. The ONLY time this is not the case will be for contest deals like the Vegas F-16 event Otherwise if you see a video of my planes here or actually see me at an event, it is flown with off the shelf motors and equipment. I have a standing deal with anyone that sees me at an event and questions this that I will take the motor out of my plane and trade you for yours AND I have actually done this with my Mig already

Cool, with all that said the F-4 looks pretty nice flying with stock equipment.

I also picked up two of the 1400 jetscreamers at the $59 price. That was way too good to pass up! Hope they make their way into the F-4 and F-5.

Nice find for those that have gear already on hand to put in it, BUT, if you have to buy the stuff to put in it, did you add up the cost of what needs to go in the plane as compared to what comes with the HL package?

Plane: $111.25 USD
Fan/motor: $48.95
ESC 50A: $55
HS-55's x 5@ 13.99 each: $69.95
cheap 14.8v 4s 2200-2300 lipo: $57.85

Total: $343
HL selling the pre-order for $249

Now obviously some can knock off the 57.85 because they already have 4s batteries and most likely much better quality ones as the one in the list is a cheap no-name "Poly-Monster".
Of course, the ARF kit alone is great for those that want to hop up the plane and already have say a midifan on hand as well as maybe a 1400 watt LSJS as i do without having to "pay" for lower class stuff. But, if you think about it, unless you buy only the plane itself, you wont save anything. You still gotta buy the servos, or use something on hand(which you did pay for at some point), use an esc you may have which you also paid for, etc.

Im debating now what i should do...since I intend on putting the 1400 watt LSJS in the F-4, however, considering there's a decent 70mm fan in the HL package, I might just stay with the pre-order. The "lower class 4s battery" I can use say in one of my R/C boats.
