Help!
crappy walkera 52 landing skids

hi all you guys out there can you help a girl with a problem, I am fairly new member to this group, I am currently flying a walkera52 heavily modified but since the all up weight of my girl as gone up to 176 grams due to the slot motor and stainless steel chassis i seem to be going through landing skids like they are going out of fashion. My heli as plenty of power and a good run time on the original lipo, i am flying with mad dog blades on the standard pinion supplied with the origanal motor, but anything other than a really soft touch down snaps the legs like butter.

can any of you guys out there recommend a better quality more flexable landing gear that will fit the walkera.

But that's a full frame upgrade. Yes I know what u mean. I snapped the right skid trying to hover, taped it back, hovered about 4 ft then snapped the left skid.

Hi tonyastro, Thank you. I used to work in engineering as a technician but i am now dabbling in glass and jewellery making so easy to put my skills to making a chassis, its just a bent up plate i am using the origanal side plates with the base section modified to enable a flat long full width s/s chassis its worked fine for a while now and put up with a lot of abuse from me i will see if i can post a pic for you

Where do you live. If you get it here:

http://www.rchobbyhelicopter.com/sto...#%20Helicopter

cost of shipping is $8 flat for U.S. Both sellers are regulars on this site. MarioIArguello and johnIn2SonAZ.

I use 5#10 skids on my 52#, a little beefier, super cheap and you only have to drill 4 holes for them to fit.

Walkera 52# brushless 2.4ghz. (2 min 26 sec)

hi, bit more expensive for me i am in Cornwall England. but i must say i like the carbon fibre chassis upgrade, and the canopies on that site. I am in the middle of drawing up a full carbon fibre design for my second walkera, should be able to get enough for two from a A5 sheet of robotics grade 1mm carbon fibre for around 20.00 about 38usd
and thanks for the info byw

If you want unbreakable skids then check these -Micro Heli Tuning

I've spent the last 8 or 9 months trying to break mine. They're not cheap when you add the postage, but you will save money in the long run.

The MIA frame kit looks good but he won't ship outside the US

Are the 5#10 skids much more durable? Nice flying by the way.

Thanks Sketch,

They are OK durable, from around 10-12 pretty hard crashes only one leg broke, I bought three sets of skids and they'll ensure me safe landings the rest of this summer.
And they look way cooler than stock

BTW:
It's a 2 cell setup if anyone should care, plenty power, 7-8 min. from a 500mah pack and 10-12 from a 900mah.
