Question
all heng long tanks

hi,does anybody know if heng long tanks can be upped in battery power without frying the boards?not a great increase, but say from 7.2 standard,to 9 or thereabouts?i have pc fans on all my boards, which seem to work well,(12v)and am not sure if this small increase in voltage will do more harm than good.any advice gratefully recieved, thanks, rob.

I wouldnt recommend it, the boards were made to do the job they do, we add a ton of accessories etc that they werent designed for, then if you up the voltage I dare say it would be the straw that broke the camels back

Hi Rob
You can run those 12v fans quite happy @ 7.2v or even 5v's of cooling power

The fans yes, but rob is considering upping the power to the boards themselves. It's ok if you have spare boards to try, but even my spare boards I dont take un-necessary risks with

(that said, I do have an S&S kit installed in my 1/350 Bismarck :P)

You can up the mah capacity of your batteries but never up the voltage. The boards were designed for 7.2 volts not 9 or 12

Rob: 8.4v at the most, 9.6v will instantly fry your board..

Anzac is correct, I too have a 5v fan that cools the aluminum heatsink like a charm

You can wire it in the smoker terminal if you removed your smoker.
