Frank,
You had me at "etched mugs".
I really need one to go with my CASA and CRRC mugs.

Seriously though, could someone please post a list of nearby hotels? Nick and I will need a place to sleep after all that food.

Killer
The 30 second task is what Mark has had the last two years. It is from the original F3K task list. Basically, flights are truncated down to the nearest 30 seconds

Ex:
1:29 -> 1:00
1:31 -> 1:30

You can lose a lot of time if your timer isn't giving you information and you know how long you can stay aloft.

I like this and the 5x 2min max as starting tasks because it challenges relight time and is less about time aloft. 2min is about all I would expect a pilot early in the morning to get without luck being involved. Asking for more than that is a bit tuff.

I am having both the 30 sec truncation followed by the 2 x 5min max on Sunday only because I would like to start the first round on Sunday at 8:30 . I hope to end early so you guys can beat some of the traffic home.

This was my thinking.....

Frank

Ken,

You bringing some folks with you? Get them down here! If they are newbies, this is the best contest to bring them to. Great big field.

Killer,

How many you bringing? Get some more!

Guys,

If you have some real newbies who are a little hesitant to try this, get them to register Novice. we have a bunch in novice now. They will have such a good time. And they will learn so much.

Just do it!

Frank -

I understand that you will be CD'ing this contest while wearing the thong you "found" at the Notell Motel?

Awe well I guess the thong is out for the weekend. Someone found out about it.

For those who might like to fly on Friday, I am taking a half a day off.

I can make myself available to open the gate to the field if anyone wants to get on the field to do some practice.

If you post here that you will be coming down on Friday and the time you plan on being there, I can try to make arrangements to have the gate opened.

Just let me know.....

So far we have registered:
8 experts
10 sportsmen
6 novices

This is going to be a great contest.

I would like to thank everyone who has registered and for supporting the LISF in our efforts to host a hand launch contest.

Thank you

Sincerely,

Frank N. and the LISF

For those whom this is their first contest, we will spend some time with you after the pilots meeting going over a few things to get you more comfortable with the contest. Please speak up if anything is unclear or further clarification is needed. We are all here for you. I want this to be enjoyable with no frustration.

Just as a suggestion, it would be helpful to you and your timer to have a stopwatch, pen(s), a clipboard (with a rubber band to hold the paper down) and possibly a calculator.

This will make timing much easier and facilitate turning in scores much quicker.

Thanks guys.

Sincerely,

Frank N.
