Walkera 4#3 scale bodies?

Lately Ive been getting a few requests to make some bodies for the Walkera 4#3 helis. In order to do so, I will have to buy or obtain a working 4#3. In the past I havent been a fan of the walkera heli mainly because of the quality of the product. I bought a walkera 60 when it was an up and comming heli and back then people had mixed reviews about it. I ended up getting one and it was a lemon. I did manage to get about two flights outta it and now it sits collecting dust. Id like to hear from the 4#3 owners and what they think of the heli. several expressed the desire to get scale bodies for it. I dont want to invest in a heli if it is not capable of good flying characteristics right out the box. As far as scale purposes, I can expect some modding or upgrading of motor(s) may be in order. I have to justify spending the money and time. most of the investment would be in the time creating and producing such fuselages for this heli, maybe even some cool looking canopies too. So all you 4#3 pilots, please chime in. Although I do think it would be neat to fly around the house with a scale moth micro thats not a coaxial. Also if you have a 4#3 to contribute to the cause Email or PM me.

Doing a little research on these things, They seem to be really tiny. Even on my smallest vacuum table i might be able to make a couple bodies. I may have to look into getting some really lightweight material. I think I can start out with something like a hughes 300C and work my way up to a full fuselage. I guess ill be looking at some .010 to .015 material to make these. pricing looks like it will be pretty inexpensive. may have to get out the magnifying glass to do the moulding work on these.

It seems it's purely a luck of the draw. Some rant over their's, other people want to lob theirs against the wall!! Mine is perfect out the box, as is my mate's. It certainly is not for beginners as it is very sensitive to inputs and very twitchy, but with your skills, I'm sure you won't have any problems handling it!!
Scale fuses would be fantastic!! Count me in when you do an Airwolf!!

Considering the price it is well worth getting in my opinion. I haven't done any mods on mine(I do have a metal head, but I'm STILL waiting for my original one to break!!!) You also have to consider there are three versions now, and I THINK-don't quote me on this!!- the metal head version is slightly different, I'm not sure.

I could "lend" you my heli, if that means I get a scale fuse of my choice FOC!!!!

Personally I think it would be fun designing bodies for this little heli. Im making micro and mini size bodies and its really a time consumer and quite a bit to handle and keep up with (But I manage). Im waiting to hear back from JohnW. As soon as I can get ahold of one of these, I can get started.

bodies for 4#3

Darthdrk,

You can absolutely count me in for scale bodies on the 4#3. I am not realy a heli pilot to speek of but after 6months with the 5#6 and the 5G6, I can fly the 4#3 stock through the house in front of me with no bad issues. I love the little thing and ordered the 4#3Bv2 today from Rotor Fever.

I am interested in the Airwolf/Bell222. I have purchased a rare 1/48th scale plastic model for just the purpose of someone like yourself doing pulls on it. If you would like to use it, I would be happy to let you! It is a full kit by ERTL and will never be built.

Also if you don't want to drop into a 4#3 right away, we perhaps can do something there as well.

Drop me a note any way you want and we can proceed if you like!

Regards,
Michael,

Scale bodies are very cool! I have an extremely light/thin Airwolf for my 4#3 that I'll be painting and mounting.
Besides the airwolf I'd also like a 206.

My Airwolf was made by Junglemaxx in the Netherlands

fuses

drthdrk- count me in for fuses too!

if you are choosing version to design it around- I would suggest the 4#3a or b

much more stable than the original 4#3

and there is an easy mod for doing 4 blades on 4#3 so that would be really nice with a good fuse
