Hey guys, like Doc, I am still using RF G3.5, Is there really that much difference that I should upgrade? I feel like the money could be better spent going into a real plane instead of a sim upgrade. Any thoughts?

P.S. has anyone seen or made a fantasy colors scheme for the slick for 3.5 yet?

We are making a demo as we speak. It will be about a week before we get all our songs on it. We are playing a local rock venue this weekend. I'm pumped.
Facebook page coming with music on it. Its mostly prog rock/rock and roll.

I'll put some up when we get some Thanks

The primary reason for regulated LiPo power, IMO, is that you get a consistent voltage to the servos over a number of flights. Let's say you're running a regulated LiPo setup....over 5 flights, your battery voltage may drop down from 8.4v to 7.2v. However, because you're regulated, your servos are always getting a constant 6v at all times during all 5 flights. Now let's say you're running an unregulated A123 setup. Over the same 5 flights, your battery voltage will go from 6.6v down to 6v. So now, the voltage to your servos are changing almost 1v under load (likely within a flight or two). That change in voltage will change both the torque and speed of your servos. Most people would probably never notice the speed of the servos changing, but it is happening. The same can be said for un-regulated LiPo power. Under a load, you could also potentially be running your servos at less than 6v with A123. That won't happen with regulated LiPo.

FWIW, flying mostly 3D, you'd probably never notice it as long as you keep your packs charged often. I've flown both, both work well, just a preference thing. My preference is LiPo regulated down to 6.5v. Just my .02.
Thanks Tyler,

I suspected that and asked about it over on FG's. It seemed to me that a varying voltage from flight to flight would manifest itself in the way the plane handled especially if your trying to do precision work. One of the experienced guys told me he couldn't detect a difference.

A thought just occured to me. If I run an ar9100 with 2s lipo directly into it (no regulator), does that mean I need a high voltage capable throttle servo, or is there another way around that? I really prefer not to have to buy a $90 throttle servo.

Definitely worth the upgrade from 3.5 - much better graphics and physics.

Ok, I just looked close at the full size pic and I noticed Jeremy in the middle is wearing your Orange Wrist Band from Ohio Huckfest!
