Cool
Millenium Falcon - Design #1 today - PLANS ADDED!!!

Summer of Space continues!

My next Star Wars ship. The Millenium Falcon. It is ok but a profile Falcon just doesn't seem that cool.

Thought i would show everyone though. I may still build it. But i really want to get the Imperial Star Destroyer and the other new ones built first.

THere have been successful Falcons here on RCgroups before so i don't know that it is necessary. We shall see though

Check my Blog - http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/member.php?u=78981

Here are the plans!!!

Now might that outboard pod on the right wing have enough drag to counter the effects of motor torque??? That might have to go for flying in earths' atmosphere...

Your right, that pod may be a problem but what about offsetting the motor some to counteract the induced drag from it. Just an idea....John

And a 3,5gr. indoor version based on an Aerosoarer, broke after 3-4 reasonable flights, never bothered to do another.

Printed tissue on derpron frame, ridiculous design, anything less than crashproof, next time (if ever) I'll do better

Us spacecraft designers are not interested in piddly concerns like atmosphere or landing!! =)

Yeah i really don't like the design very much....

I was going to make the Cockpit a profile too but i got kinda bored with it by then.

I will post the plans tonight if anyone wants to actually build it. I have too many other designs that i am much more excited about to spend on this one... at least for now!

I did see the pics of the Full Fuse Ducted Fan Falcon and it looked really cool when it was flying.

I am suprised that you didn't comment on the B-Wing yet GPW!

I think I will be finishing the Enterprise_D this weekend and get a video up

Next on the table is the Imperial Star Destroyer!

THen the Fury and B-Wing. Stay Tuned!

The ISD is my fav choice ... the MF needs some other scale detail(s) on the other side to balance the drag of the pod, could be one big thing or several little draggy things ...or eliminate the pod altogether and fly it as a Flatty' Falcon...
You're on a roll Dude!!! COOL !!!!

Ok, i have updated the design a bit, lost the giant cockpit and added something on the other side to try to balance the drag forces.

Plans will be up shortly in case anyone wants to build one!

Clear CD case material would work like a charm for some vertical area back there.

I printed out the Enterprise plans early this morning and delivered them to a F/B that doesn't have I-net service. He was building before I left his shop. I'm sure he'll also start on the Falcon as soon as plan are available. I'll try to get him to photograph the builds to post...KL
